Is been a week you would think that would be enough to generate all the numbers

Dan Rafael said in his chat last week that Top Rank was still waiting to get numbers back from cable, but had satellite figures. He said it's looking like they might not crack 400k. Top Rank was aiming for 475k+.

Thats not bad for a fight that should have been on regular HBO plus i am glad martinez got his S handed to him for cherrypicking a welterweight instead of fighting GGG.

After all the PPV fights this year expect canelo/lara to be just as bad.

Yes it does. PPV numbers can decide future fights and how negotiations may go.

    ---

On topic, I'm still expecting it to be $450k+.

Who cares. The fans got to see a potential great fight. Cottos ppv numbers are always decent anyway.

Based on the last two major PPV's, it apparently takes longer than a couple weeks to get the PPV numbers.

I can't see Canelo/Lara doing any better than 400k buys either, honestly. I think they should be having the bar at 350k buys because there are too many PPVs this year. Not only that, but it's really not a PPV-worthy fight. Neither was Angulo though.

It's not in terms of the fan-base or entertainment-value of the B side, but Alvarez vs. Lara is a PPV worthy fight.
