Prime Wikny Wright vs GGG

Whilst Winky was a defensive genius he wasn't unbeatable. If you had a good punch output and good power you could keep him in his shell like defence for large parts of rounds.

And yes whilst GGG's best win is Macklin, who whilst a legit solid top 10 opponent is not the stuff of legends. But, remember Winky lost to Vasquez and Vargas, drew with Taylor in a nip and tuck fight and was run close by the much smaller man in Mosley.

This would be a close fight, would go out on a limb and say Golovkin in a close but clear UD.

Wright is at least a couple of levels above anyone Golovkin has fought. While I'm a Golovkin fan he really has done nothing to suggest he would even be competitive. Anyone can look like the next Marvin Hagler or Julian Jackson when facing over matched opposition, much harder to do the same against elite level fighters like Wright.

Yes Golovkin hits hard and has been very impressive but Wright had a very tight defence and was never stopped. He dealt with Tito's and Vargas' power without any difficulty and has the awkward southpaw skills to win a decision.

You will never see GGG lose to any fighter at middleweight with a turtle shell defense.

Get past the racial trolling poppy****- realize that styles make fights. A turtle shell D is the absolute worst one to try and stop Golovkin with.

 

Winky wins by wide decision. Golovkin wouldn't touch him.
