It looks like Algieri's promoter and Arum have begun initial talks for the proposed fight. When you consider that Arum has little interest in dealing with Haymon and that Pacquiao has no interesest in moving up in weight, it appears that Algieri and Marquez are the only viable options for Pacquiao in the fall. This is quite a turnaround for Algieri. He's gone from an unknown, to world champ, to potential Pacquiao opponent seemingly over night.

Anyway, who would you guys pick if this fight actually went down?

Algieri's promoter. Bob Arum and Carl Moretti have both said that Algieri is in the running as well.

So is this considered a cherry pick? Because apparently no one is for Pacquiao.

I got Pacquiao winning this one, late TKO or wide UD.

I think the fight would be a 'cherry-pick' for Pac.

I'd rather see Algieri fight Timothy Bradley.

I think Pacquiao's top choice is Marquez. If that fight can't be made though, what other options does Pacquiao have?

If true, what a joke. Just retire already. PAC has several fights available that would be competitive and won't take em.

Algieri's name gets thrown out and here *****s are making threads about Pac fighting. Jesus fùcking Christ I'm not a promoter or even a good businessman but anyone who believes Pac is fighting Alg is dumb and an idiot. If it doesn't make dollar it doesn't makes sense. Are you going to pay Pac more than $20 million for a fight that won't even sell 400K?

Would rather Algieri stayed at 140 lbs for now.

Don't think Algieri vs Pacquiao next makes since for either.

Algieri may never be ready for Pacquiao but would like to see him fight Peterson, Garcia, Matthysse and others at 140 lbs before moving up.

Wouldn't be a good win for Pacquiao if Algieri only has 1 win against a top 10 , 140 lbs fighter.
