Both were well known for their devastating body attack, relying more on an accumulation of punches to the body. Who was the more effective body puncher in your opinion?

Chavez. Although McCallum had the best uppercut to the balls I've ever seen.

Both were excellent body punchers. But, I would give the nod to Chavez, as well.

I would give the slight edge to Chavez although McCallum was an excellent body puncher.

Chavez was a greater fighter than McCallum. Edge to Chavez. Mike is a good top 100 fighter. Chavez is top 30

How high would you rank McCallum if Hagler gave him a fight a won?

On to the subject i think Chavez was a better body puncher, Mccallum was an awesome fighter, Chavez was just on another level...

I'd have to rewatch Gainer. You are of course spot on with Pedroza and I'm ashamed of the oversight.

Golota is terribly overrated by you though. A good uppercut to the balls is nearly invisible, seemingly accidental; only it's scrotum numbing consistency makes it obviously intentional. Golota 's fouls were unsubtle as a hooker in a convent.

I see that differently .. if McCallum had Chavez's management he'd be rated one of the top ten fighters of the past forty years .. he was closer to a Murderer's Row candidate .. no one wanted to fight Mike McCallum by choice if they didn't have to ..

Gainer vs Norwood was awesome. Don't think I've laughed this hard at a fight in a long time.

Both were beasts at the body punching, hard to say but I'll lean towards JCC. Bet guys he faced had sore ribs for weeks after..
