I've noticed that I can run three miles with no problem so my cardio is in decent shape for where I'm at but I can't keep up with the fast pace I usually set in sparring. I recover quickly between rounds but then it becomes harder and harder to keep pressuring/swarming with each passing round.

The only thing I figure I can do is try to do my road work at a faster pace or alternate in sprints since I tire out very quickly whenever I dash.

    Any recommendations?

How long have you been boxing? Are you breathing properly in the ring? Also. it is always harder to keep pressuring as rds go on, but should be relative to the opponent

The breathing was something I fixed early on, I used to hold my breathe too much but I've learned the habit to breathe out when throwing punches or moving around. Been boxing consistently since January, did a little bit before that but not as extensive as the past six months.

    This.

    Try:

    1. Intervals on stationary bike. Start with 20 on/30 off. Build to 30 on/30 off.

    2. Hill sprints. Sprint uphill, walk downhill.

    3. 400m sprints. SPRINT a whole lap, Slow jog half of the track to recover/repeat.

This is a progressive interval model that will get you excellent conditioning.

When you can do multiple 400 sprints, you won't have a problem in this area.

You sound maybe you're too tense or punch yourself out. Probably haven't found your rhythm either everyone has their own. Pacman, GGG, Chavez Jr for ex: all like to come forward, but attack and move at the pace they most comfortable with. I'd run 3-5 miles day and spar with fighters doin 10+ miles and I'd hang with them or hold my own. Find your rhythm.
