First, Angulo hits considerably harder than Canelo. Second, Angulo was hungrier and more focused than anyone had ever seen him against Lara. Third, Lara is basically a bigger southpaw version of Floyd with a little more pop... but more hittable. My point is that he'll probably have the same issues with Lara that he had with Floyd...except that he'll probably have less success establishing the jab (or countering) due to Lara's decisive reach advantage.
This won't be a walk in the park for either fighter, but claiming that Lara is a bigger version of Floyd is laughable. Did you see the Lara Martirosyan fight? A poor man's Floyd woulda pot shotted the shet outta Vanes with ease. What bothered Canelo the most in my opinion was Floyd's speed, Lara is no where near May's speed. It would be a very good scrap in my opinion but I can see ginger wining a clear UD with Lara having his moments.
And that's exactly what he did after the 7th round....watch the fight again and tell me that Lara wasn't desperately trying to KO that fool. That said, I agree that Floyd's speed and defense is on another level but , believe it or not, Lara's reflexes and accuracy are right there with Money.
Lara stops Canelo late. Canelo does not have the stamina to take the punishment and keep up with Lara movement and he took Floyd jab all night...Lara's jab is almost as good as Floyd and Canelo will eat it as well. Canelo cant cut the ring and his foot work is as bad as El Perro, but El Perro hits way harder than Canelo. Another thing to note is that I dont see Shaefeer (SP?) and De La Hoya will never put Canelo against Lara. Ill sayt that it will be a good scrap but I see Lara stopping Canelo on the later rounds. :deal
Lara stops him based on struggling with Bumes and getting a gift from Molina? Lara is probably the most overrated guy in boxing right now, Canelo stops him probably in less then 8 rounds. How you say? Lara has no inside game, fighters get inside and kill his body while he just watches.
Lara undoubtedly overlooked them both. He is clearly the type of guy that does better the more he respects his opponent. Rewatch Lara/Williams and Lara/Angulo and tell me if you still believe that Canelo would "stop him in less than 8 rounds".
This will be by far his toughest fight along with Mayweather. What worries me is does he even have a strategy to beat Lara? he sure didn't look like he had one against Mayweather. He looks a beast here. [yt]7R65U9EnJbk[/yt]
