If he wants a tuneup so be it...

I'm sure theres a High School gymnasium down in PR that would love this fight but not so sure why SHO is footing the bill or fans are supposed to GAF.

Never heard of neither of these Bambi's.

Garcia and Patterson should be fighting each other ffs , or at the least rematch Herrera. Id like him to scrub that question mark of his record.
A real champ rematches close fights.

You don't take tune ups coming off a win.

i could understand if no one wanted to fight Danny and he was just taking what he can get, but that isn't the case. he's just fighting garbage here for no reason. his last fight was a gimme, but he lost that one well and truly.

i hope no broadcast in the UK wastes money on this **** by picking it up. we can do without this card.

US people - would this card ever be shown on HBO? Or are showtime the only ones with low standards

I can't believe Showtime had the audacity to buy this fight. I Was actually optimistic when I heard DLH say he wanted to make the best fights for the fans. This is little more than a way to make Haymon's guys some money in easy fights. After this card is done, our "reward" is Garcia vs. Peterson in the fall.

I know it is probably commonplace in boxing, but it would appear the "A" sides are getting way too much money and they don't care about the opponent. Guerrero got $1 million as opposed to Kamegai's 75k. If the Golden Boy really cares about making great fights for the fans, take a little money from the attraction to invest in decent "B" sides.

I'm considering canceling SHO now. If all we have between now and September is this piece of crap, it might be time to trim my budget. I'll admit HBO is turning to crap as well, but at least we get GGG and Kovalev.

HBO tends to have slightly higher standards. We saw a couple of sub-standard Kovalev opponents, but that was due more to the dearth of names at LH and the assumption that Kovalev/Stevenson would materialize later in the year.

I would say HBO does stand firm that showcase fights are a thing of the past in their mind. Alvarado, coming off a huge win, got matched very tough the next time out vs. Provodnikov. Crawford really wasn't given a pushover when he was matched with Gamboa for his homecoming to Omaha.

This isn't to say HBO doesn't have its many faults, but when it comes to quality of opposition it is far and away ahead of SHO at this point in time.

Rod Salka... I remember where I have seen this guy, pretty sure last I saw him was getting robbed by Canelo's brother on Shobox. That was his last 140 fight....

Pretty much otherwise he fights at lightweight. 3 KO's at lightweight, his career high achievement is being robbed in an Alvarez fight, and he is headlining for 140 pound lineal title shot now.

Garcias transition from burgeoning champion to laughingstock is now complete.

That was my understanding of it too, looks like Showtime are repeating HBOs mistakes with Haymon.

    Garcia the new BERTO!
