Szpilka called out Cunningham. I wished, I could fight that bum in 2015 but I guess if Cunningham knocks him out, he has to retire .. because a fight against Zimnoch would end his career for sure then. 3 fights in a row .. he's not Chisora. Cunningham would shatter his chin till round 3. Cunningham is a different league than Jennings, who never entered a boxing gym before the age of 25. Cunningham said, he is not impressed but actually the fight can be made.
Good fight but Artur is a lil less predictable than Monsour...plus the SP difference and age. USS was there for the taking vs Monsour....Szpilka not so easy to defend against.... Szpilka with a great COMEBACK KO in6
How the F did Artur Szpilka lose to Bryant Jennings? I mean come on yo. How was that possible? Boxing is an art and Artur Szpilka is an artist while Bryant Jennings is just some rank amateur that looks like **** in between them ropes, I mean ok, he's tough and he's in good shape but is that all of the sudden supposed to equate to a number one contender? Artur's management lost him that fight, flying takes alot out of you and weakens your immune system and decreases your strength. Instead of taking one flight the fellow had to take three, forward, back and forward. Another thing which doesn't work in Szpilka's favour is the fact that he's not one of these newage gigantic heavyweights. Sure Bryant wasn't much heavier than Szpilka but Bryants body was stiff as a rock while Szpilka would obviously felt much more comfortable making the fight at the 210pound limit. USS Cunningham isn't the biggest fighter around either but he's improved since his cruiser weight days and he's one of these fighters that's a real fighter a rare thing these days at the heavyweight limit. I'd predict that Szpilka should win this fight and the fight playing out with Szpilka having lots of success early on and getting overconfident going for the kill and Cunningham grabbing the opportunity to get some into the fight but losing a spirited effort by UD. Szpilka wins by UD. But yes.... we were talking about size and the HW division. The cruiserweight division was created in 1980 when Muhammed Ali was still the heavyweight champion of the world. Back then Muhammed was considered a rather large heavyweight but he had a size advantage VS most of his opponents. Today standing at 6"3 and weighing in at 220 Muhammed Ali would be an averaged sized heavyweight or even a smallish one. In today's HW division we have the Bitchko brother ontop weighing about 250 pounds, his brother weighed in at something similar as did the former champion Big Lennox etc. Back in 2003 the cruiserweight limit was raised from 190 pounds to 200 which in my honest opinion was a wrong move since it's not like men with an ideal weight of 190 pounds stopped being born that year. Now there's of course the argument that special boxers like Muhammed Ali would find ways to defeat larger opponents such as LL and the Bitchko's but not every boxer can become a Muhammed Ali, that's just not how the world works and the division shouldn't just be created so that a rare diamond can shine but rather so that active fighters can get into entertaining and competitive fights. I think that a division between a 190 pound cruiserweight and the heavyweight division would be the way to go and would give many good fighters such as Szpilka the chance to shine.
Cunningham would clown Szpilka, I'm sorry that i'm saying this against my countrymen, but he is still the same fighter he was 2-3 years ago and has made almost no progress since the, making the same amateurish mistakes he always has (next to no jab, terrible defense, throwing that counter left uppercut off the ropes)
