I think Merchant also said that he looked like a "stuffed turkey".

I think there are two arguments here:

    1. Morales was severely weight drained. came in 7 lbs lighter than his previous fight night weight. The fact that he lost his tune up to a no name in a rather embarrassing fashion, gives evidence to the idea that he was declining. Also lost to a non-elite boxer in Diaz immediately after providing further evidence he was past it.

    2. He had just beaten Pacquiao and pushed Barerra in a close fight at 130 lbs. He was just fighting in the class he had been for the last few years. Wasn't really drained. Morales often didn't take his lesser opponents seriously and that's what he did against Raheem. He didn't condition himself well for the fight and that loss should be considered an outlier more than anything else. He would have prepared adequately for Pacquiao in the rematches just as he would have for the Barrera and 1st Pacquiao fights. His loss to Diaz is generally regarded as a robbery. Most believe he beat Diaz. Factoring that in he was undefeated after the third Pacquiao fight for another five whole years. And even then his loss to Maidana was a close one. He wasn't shot.

2 of his 3 career defining wins are against a Drained Oscar who hadnt fought at 147 in 7 years, and a Cotto coming off wraps who Pac demanded fight at 145 despite just fighting at 147 against Oscar?

    says a lot.

Morales was war torn and coming off an embarrassing loss, but Manny gets a couple points because it's a revenge win and against a greater fighter, so about a B.

This was'nt an after the fight afterthought. Its Well documented with Mexican scribes who saw Morales' frail body step up to get officially weighed in that he did'nt look in condition to fight over the long haul of a fight.

Youre easily the worst poster on this site.

Prime Morales was when he wasn't draining himself down in weight and fighting at 122/126. He'd have beat Manny's ass at those weights.

Morales was "schooling" by way of mockery In The first few rounds in the Garcia fight, it was hilarious when he imitated Danny's swinging. In his prime he would have toyed with him more and played about with him. Second fight danny got a sweet revenge, in what was a farce of a fight anyway.

As for the maidana fight, after the eye shut, we saw some vintage morales, man that was just some heart and class from the Mexican warrior, at times schooling maidana. I thought morales won that fight, but a round or two. Given the fact his eye was closed, it was an amazing rejuvenated performance.

His "wins" over a drained morales mean about as much as his "loss" to Bradley

correction dummy morales won a close decision in the first fight could of gone either way and pac battered him 2 times after that fool....

and in all those fights morales was prime... he was only 30 and considering what he did to maidana 5 years later that says alot *****........
