Has nothing to do with anything. Mayweather is a brand, in addition to a person. Generally speaking (with a few exceptions) people are commenting on, and judging his brand. The Mayweather Brand is a commercial provider of an entertainment product, and like all commercial providers of products are fair game for consumers to comment on, discuss, like or dislike.

The fact that some people like yourself seem to take disapproval of the brand very personally, despite the fact that you do not make one red cent from it - is just further incentive to air criticism when warranted.

Well when you talk about his record, his money, and reference what forum posters have done themselves as Boxers that implies you are discussing the brand. As in, the brand of Floyd "Money" Mayweather in his boxing persona. The guy consumers pay $75 to watch perform.

That seems to imply people should not be criticizing his boxing, opponents, public statements made , etc - which are all relevent due to his stature as a commercial figure fans and consumers have an interest in.

If you had simply said "tawdry gossip about, and sordid speculation on Floyds personal life is crappy and unbecoming " or something of that nature I would have been inclined to agree with you.

However, the vast majority of discussion of Floyd around here is really in regards to his fights - specifically his opponents and who he has or has not fought. While I am probably sicker than almost anyone else of hearing about the fight that wont happen, discussion of a professional pugilist's career, legacy and opponent schedule is fair game.

 

What is your boxing background and/or pedigree...???
