As this comes up as a subject sometimes... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4QcswOVrVw (from 40 minutes in) "We are 20,000 over where we were in our business plan"
I interpreted that as they've had 400,000 people as subscribers in total since launch rather than ever got anywhere near 400,000 at any given time. My guess would be it peaked for Haye v Chisora at 150,000 max.
It is going down the pan regardless of Wanky's spin. Not viable and of little interest to the general public who want multi sport channels.
I like the bit where he says he had to leave sky because he was only getting 8 dates a year then when it comes to the part about the fury undercard having 17 fights on he says, yeah i had to that because my boys ant had enoughaction this year........... You got your own channel frank. they can fight every week.
Gone when the subsidiser had had enough of this loss making channel. All diehards already subscribed and no queue of new subscribers waiting around the corner to replace the cancelled subscribers leaving because the domestic fights on Boxnation are 99% dross. Its is doooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed Doooooooooooooooooooooooomed I say
Well sure, he could be talking nonsense. But then, he is at least in a position to know the facts. That may be a lot more than can be said for a lot of people around here.
So no actual prediction from you. It could be here in 20 years then... Do you have any actual evidence for subscriber numbers?
Have to agree that although it is a great idea in principle to have a 24/7 all boxing channel,it cannot survive.Even with money being pumped in by wealthy investors who can use this as a tax loss against their real business,it is destined to die. I wish them luck in the meantime.
The facts are that he has liquidated business owing MILLIONS. There's a REAL fact for you. I wouldn't trust a single word that comes out that man's mouth.
Let's hope it survives it has live shows on most weeks and for the money it's excellent value for boxing fans
