Eddie Hearn should have kept his nose out of Rickys training. Imo the change of trainer was all down to him.

If you're going to change trainer, why would you move to Tony Sims. Seriously, when did Tony Sims become a "go to" trainer?

Big mistake leaving Billy to go to Tony. Billy is a better trainer. It was simple mistakes that could of made the difference

It must be a long long way back to world level for Burn's now, sad really but a lot of people saw this coming.

Congratulations to Dejan Zlaticanin, heard Sky commentators say he became a father today. went to Scotland and won well, hope he get a title shot. good luck to the man.

Alex Arthur said a great thing the other day regarding Ricky changing trainer.

He said he didn't like the idea of Ricky changing trainer to Sims because he was still sparring the same guys. So where was the chance?

He was dead right, that's the worst performance of burns career. He looked really poor. School boy errors. That's all down to coaching.

It's a pity we never got to hear sims advice to burns in between rounds. But sky's technical faults scuppered that.

school boy errors at 31. the basics should be impregenated in you by now, a change of trainer shouldnt make a huge difference unless your in with a far worse/better fighter. seriously if havent got a deterrant, world class fighters will walk through you. honestly if you think of ken buchanan who fought out of a suitcase. the fighter is the main thing the trainer only polishes and gives motivation,

Billy learned of the best trainer in Britain Peter Harrison, better trainers than Sims. Talk of Harrison as I have always said if Burns fights Scott he will be retired. Only fight fans will turn out to see Burns in now.

Never even thought Crawford was anything special when he beat Burns and tonight proves it.

Lost his title to Crawford without any fight and lost tonight against a very limited fighter.

Billy Nelson trained him to perform way above his level of ability and without Billy he is nothing.

    Rubbish,

Burns was simply a very good fighter who was never going any further.

there is plenty constructive observation & criticism suggest at Billy for Ricky on this site stating clearly peoples fears & concerns about Ricky's fighting style, manner and way... it was blanked or dismissed.

Ricky got himself to the level he was ever going to be which was never going to be great.

and as I said there's plenty of written history right here proving it!

Ricky stopped listening to Billy. I saw that first hand. Billy's advise was always spot on in the gym and if anything Billy was just too loyal to Ricky. He needed to be a bit more harsh with him.. It's a shame at the end of the day and the big loser out of it all will be Scottish Boxing.
