Ricky doesn't and hasn't listened to this coach during a fight for as long as I've watched him, he fights on instinct and adapts during the fight so it's tough to praise or criticise Billy too much other than the original change to a more professional style hen Burns first joined him.

Seriously where can Burns go from here?

Four defeats with Only one of them coming againts a credible opponent and he is rode his luck getting this far after the gonzales and beltran fights.

Man needs to know when he is beaten otherwise he will just become a gatekeeper

i must admit i am a late comer to Burns, only really seen last 4 or 5 fights and i must say he is awful at top 15 level.i have hardly seen Burns win a round yet....fair play to him and fat bill for getting where they did tho

Because he went to Sims to improve on weaknesses, and surely he should have had enough brains to realise 1 change he should have made was to study opponents. Its common sense.

It's Billy Nelson fault that Ricky in his 30s has as many flaws as he does,

Should have went to Sims about a year ago.

If it wasn't for Billy Ricky Burns would never have become world champion. Billy got the absolute best out of Burns, anyone who saw Burns earlier in his career wouldn't have seen him going beyond European level, the fact that he was a 2 weight world champion is because Billy trained him, Sims why do people rate him so much, trains a few matchroom fighter's because he's Eddie's mate, how has Mitchell looked under Sims eh. Burns was never going to be elite no matter who trained him Nelson got as much as possible out of Burns, he wouldn't have become champion with Sims imo.

Yes Billy done well for Ricky getting him to beat lower level fighters, But Ricky has flaws which Billy has let him make for a while and now decent standard boxers, Take advantadge of that.

To say Burns made a mistake leaving Nelson is terrible, If anything he should have done it sooner.

the fact of the matter Ryan is I've warned Ricky many many times about these flaws you mention and for a few years now.
Tony was telling him to get of the ropes it looks bad I've told him that for 2-3 years, boxers need to take responsibility some do most don't!

Fair enough mate, You worked wonders with Ricky no doubt about it.

But he looks scared in the ring and can;t seem to get in and out of range like he used to , Since the Gonzalez fight.

What would you like to see him do next?

Moving to Sims wasn't the right choice. If he was determined to improve then he should have looked at going to America where he would have had access to top coaches and world-class sparring. Sims was a poor choice from the start, it made no sense to leave Billy for him.

Sims is a good trainer, Personally I think Joe Gallagher would have been a better shout.
