I think Gamboa wins this comfortably. Possibly by stoppage but more likely, Crawford will go into defensive mode and loose on points.
I am worried that Crawford's size, speed and punch accuracy will be too much for Gamboa but I am really hoping the Gamboa that fought Jorge Solis turns up and he is in a destructive mood. I have been disappointed in his last two fights where he struggled with fighters I expected him to walk through. It seems that sometimes we get the careful Gamboa who boxes his was to victory as in the Salido & Ponce DeLeon fights or the destructive Gamboa like in the Jorge Solis and Rogers Mtagwa fights, I assumed wrongly that he would be destructive against Farenas & Perez but this was not the case, Crawford is more skilled and a far superior fighter to both Farenas & Perez and will provide serious questions to which Gamboa will have to find an answer. I am really undecided in this one, my initial feeling when this fight was announced was that I was with Gamboa 100%, however as the fight draws nearer I am becoming more unsure of this view and actually I see this as a fight either man has the ability to win. Psycholigically I believe Crawford has the edge and with the fight being in his backyard, I am thinking that this one could go down to the wire, maybe even a draw. I do really want Gamboa to win and have been a fan of his right from the start, but I have been really disappointed in his last few performances and also the lack of regularity of his fights. Please Gamboa go out and do something special tonight for the boxing fans.
Schooled!? Wow, you must not watch much boxing. No one is going to school Gamboa. Crawford might beat him close but clearly, but I can't see anyone getting schooled tonight.
Haven't seen much of Gamboa and nothing of Crawford but if Gamboa put work in the gym Crawford really has to be the next big thing to beat him
OP, you could be right. Gamboa has little regard to defense and gets reckless, lunging in wide open and leaving himself to be countered. How many times has he been down in his career already? Crawford's reach and height could play a big factor if Crawford boxes smart from the outside and works off of Gamboa's aggression and leaky defense. Crawford UD.
