Weres the 'Heavyweight' now? Guy that slagged Billy N to cleaners and talked about how much better Ricky was with his new great coaching lol. Be surprised if he posts again any time soon. If Ricky decides to fight on at domestic level he should go and give Billy a big apology and ask him to take him back. Never bite the hand that feeds you

Did he get rid of you within 30 seconds of you guys sitting down together in the changing room after the Crawford fight?

good post this. burns is as featherfisted as they come, so when hes too scared to hurt his man, then its time to hang them up.

also to billy nelson: you would love a powerful boxer in your gym, you would fall in love if a heavy hitter walked in one day. strong punchers produce more hype and more money for everyone connected with them. there also entertaining so yeh if a goodworking heavy hitter came to your gym you would need another a few pairs of undies spar.

I see the point the guys making moog but from a coaches prespective its easier to train someone who relies on a big punch rather than a fast skilful boxer, well that what I think.:good

Well your the coach. Would it not depend on what level they were fighting at, for example a big puncher whom lacks skills and speed is going to get up close and be able to land more bombs at domestic level, but if at World level it must be harder to train someone like that, as it would be really hard to teach them to get in close to land bombs without getting badly hurt in process. Were as someone with speed and skill would surely be easier to train at that level as they can come in and out of ranch easier without getting hurt

i agree with this aswell, fighting on the backfoot is bread and butter for most people. countering a maruading headfirst puncher is easy for a decent boxer with a nice jab, an all out offensive beast is hard to train there is always a counter against it. you need to do establish as a trainer, and its not an easy task there is no fighter who can balance the perfection of defence and offence.
but as we saw with simmons vs camacho, simmons went all out offensive against an offensive fighter showed some decent tucking up abilities and when he attacked he landed good shots all night, his performance was lack lustre because he was trying to hit camacho with 1hit punches.

Billy and Ricky are 2x World Champions, they have done more than most fighters dream of yes they split but sometimes fighters feel they need a change. if billy himself isnt bitter on somebody else training him why are other people that dont know either of them

Billy, in all seriousness Ricky is always out of range these days when throwing his shots. He pulls his head back too more than other fighters a bit like he is flinching. Is this down to the jaw injury?

I'm a fan of Ricky's I thought if he brought it to Crawford he would have beaten him, first few rounds were close but Ricky was very reluctant to engage. The Ricky of old would have gotten stuck in to him. The fight Friday night was pretty poor from Ricky.

To those of you that think Ricky has no power you must be mad. I was at the open day for the Crawford fight and if Ricky has no power then god only knows how hard the other guys hit!!!
