Is punch quality the reason people think Hopkins won?

Joe clearly controlled & dictated the pace of the fight. He was the aggressor, he landed 100 or so shots more & it wasn't even close.

Hopefully, that can be similar to the acual poster they will use if they actually fight.

But anyway, I do believe Hopkins followed his gameplan. Unfortunately, IMO it was just a bad gameplan.

He cant expect thow 20 punches a round, while the other guy throws 60 or so and expect to win.

Was it a great performance by Joe? HELL NO. I thought he looked disgusting with that slapping crap.

    But Hopkins looked equally terrible.

In the end Bhop lost the fight for the same reason he lost to Taylor.

HE DIDNT LET HIS HANDS GO AND GOT OUTHUSTLED!!

It was an overall ugly fight. Calzaghe looked like he was in a slap fight. He landed a few punches but they had zero effect, except the low blow. Was it an act? Who knows?

The fight should of been scored like a professional bout and not like a olympic trials fight. It could of very well been called a draw, but with JC being put on his can in the first and truthfully losing the first 4 rounds without question and getting stunned a couple of other times, it was easy to see who was taking the cleaner shots in the fight.

I am glad the racist ***** had to eat his words. But I am saddened that an ATG is given a loss by the judges in a fight that he actually won. Ugly? Yes. Exciting? Not Really. It was a text Bhop fight. Bhop 114 JC 113 through my eyes.

Rubbish I had it as a draw, and I don't belong to abcd, but I look for quality punch, hit without beeing hit, Calzaghe just throw a lot of punches, without landing anything.

He outlanded Hopkins, by a wide margin.
He initiated every exchange, Hopkins waited all night to land the counter right. Past round 6 when Hopkins couldn't even find that punch he was throwing some strange uppercut/hook with his eyes closed.
Hopkins spent the entire match in retreat, on the ropes. He was clinching all fight. The KD was the only positive for B-Hop in this fight, he looked bad, he lost clearly, there is no way to score the fight for Bernard.

Yes up until round 6 is was Hopkins, and after that you can give it to Calzaghe, in my book it's a draw, not counting the kd.

Yeah but Calzaghe showed what he was about by coming through those 3 rounds.

And, ultimately, BHop showed what he was all about - a bully who will cry like a baby when he meets someone who will truly stand up to him. That's one interpretation of it anyway :!:

I'm calling it a draw from now on. Calzaghe landed nothing but slaps, Hopkins the more effective punches. Calzaghe was the aggressor, while Hopkins clinched all night long. What a **** fight.
