Kelvin Hall is shut down ATM mate.Might still open for events right enough.
I don't know what Billy thinks but I'm not sure that Ricky would benefit from moving up.He's already lost a bit of pop and when you don't have KO power and seem to be on the decline, will going up another 5lbs have a great effect?
In fairness though,Billy knows far more about how it would affect Ricky than I do,so it's his opinion that counts for me.

I know Billy has worked with both throughout their careers, Ricky more than Willie and he has done his best work with Ricky but i'm sure he still respects what Willie would bring to the table. After the 2 contrasting fights, Willie looking good and Ricky looking bad I wanted to see if Billy thought there might be a chance of Willie nicking a win or if he thought Ricky would still beat him with ease!!

I've got loads of respect for Billy as a coach and that is why i asked the question, if Billy thought I was trolling i'm sure he would have called me and said so.

Maybe if you read my other posts you will see i said it was hard to call because i know both and respect both so i was probably sitting on the fence !!

You have your opinion on me but I'm sure if you look at all my previous posts you will see i am definitely not a troll !! Maybe you should do a bit more homework on posters before calling them trolls and tossers!!!

so you cant even come up with a valid reason why willie would beat ricky. im merely jesting with billy and yourself on the burger he likes a angus and so do i. im no troll david i just check them when they need it. stupid questions get stupid answers.

At the end of the day I don't troll, my question was valid after Saturdays performances by both fighters. If I had asked thins question 6 months ago then it might have been trolling but here is why in my opinion it was worth asking:

    1. Willie has looked quit solid since moving to Light Welter and looks to be doing something different before fights which i believe would be his new strength and conditioning coach, he seems to be hitting harder too and will be brimming with confidence. He has always been very technically sound and has great ring craft.

    2. Ricky has struggled in his last 4 fights losing 2 of them and drawing 1, although i think Ricky has been unlucky with the guys he has boxed and the injury in the Beltran fight but Ricky is short on confidence and is boxing that way in the ring.

    3. Willie has had a few bouts now at Light Welter and Ricky hasn't had any, this might not have much bearing on any outcome on how the fight would pan out but on the other hand it could!!

As for how the fight would pan out, if Ricky can get his form of 2 years ago back then i think he would be able to out speed and out box Willie to a points decision or even stop Willie late but if the Ricky that has boxed without confidence like in his last few fights were to turn up then Willie (full of confidence) would have at least and outside chance of causing an upset against Ricky.

It is possible that Willie has just had his one last great performance to win the Lonsdale belt just like Curtis Woodhouse against Darren Hamilton but imo the biggest difference between Curtis and Willie are the sound fundamentals Willie honed earlier in his boxing career!

I really can't see why anyone wouldn't give Willie at least a small chance of getting the win considering current form!! I really hope we see this fight happen now so we can see if I got it totally wrong!!!

David this big difference between the two is there opponents, Ricky has fought world class opponents albeit not done so good in his last few, willies last three opponents two have been Scottish area and Curtis who overachieved at domestic level.
Two good fights for willie would be Tyrone Nurse or Bradley Saunders although wouldn't it be great if he got a euro shot in Glasgow
Credit to willie for his win I was happy for him, him and Curtis are both friends of mine but Ricky would be a big step to far.

Agree on all points there mate but would say the over achieved comment was harsh having watched curtis coming through id say the opposite i thought he was heavily underated , cracking left jab and throws a really nice body shot , Willie just won by experience used his boxing brain really well like in the 10th or 11th round i think it was curtis blew him out the park for 2 mins then willie finished strong and put him down , the last minute of the rounds was where willie was doing the damage and catching the judges eyes , what about vic laughlins 113-113 what fight was he watching :rofl

Whoever thinks Limond beats Burns hasn't got a clue! Burns has slipped but not that much. Some people are so deluded it's unbelievable.
