Watch any gamboa knockdown, why did it happen? Was it just a random potshot that put him down? No. What happens is he gets reckless and comes forward like a wild man throwing 4-5 punch combos without bringing his hands back up to guard. Any fighter that gets clipped coming in like that will go down. If gamboa had a "glass chin" you would have seen him knocked out cold by 1 shot. Even against crawford he wasn't out cold, he was still getting up. Careless boxing and breaking fundamentals will get you hurt
I disagree. Yes he is wild, and that makes his chin get cracked, but lets recall the first 4 rounds of this last fight. If I am not mistaken, the chin got checked as soon as he, either got a tiny bit slower or over confident. Either way, his chin does not hold up with his lack of ability.
Look, Gamboa's hit the floor what like 11 times till date whereas Khan has about 6 or 7 times. So people think Gamboa doesn't have a glass chin but are quick to label Khan? Don't forget legends like Hearns, Lamotta and many others have been down countless times as well, some more than 10 times. Just sayin, this 'glass chin' **** is getting ridiculously annoying.
The old fighters used to fight a lot, lose a fight, but kept on fighting, Joe Louis was knocked out cold more than once, so was Tyson, Foreman, Ali, Lewis, not to mention Leonard. This glass chin crap needs to stop.............
