A rematch with Cotto won't happen with Arum being involved in Cotto's career yet again. Also, didn't Maidana give Mayweather a far tougher fight than Cotto?

The usual troll critics said Maidana 100% deserved a rematch.

Now that the rematch looks to be happening, it is routine to change the tune.

 

1st fight should have never happened and neither should rematch ..

 

I wouldn't say they were the same, Maidana did more damage than Cotto did and was more in the fight as well. Cotto had his moments but Mayweather was always able to compete and was never smothered and forced on the defensive as he was against Maidana. With that said, a Cotto rematch, while definitely better at 160 for a sixth division world title(and lineal) attempt, will never happen with Arum's involvement in Cotto's team yet again.

The first fight proved to be a competitive and solid one and definitely worth happening. Sure, on paper it looked like a joke fight but easily proved otherwise from the opening bell. Wasn't Provodnikov-Algieri considered a joke fight on paper too?, how about Douglas-Tyson?, Pacquiao-Marquez III?, Wladimir-Brewster?, Lewis-Rahman?, Hopkins-Pavlik?, Hopkins-Trinidad?.... and the examples are endless.
