It's only racism if it's against black people. Broner could have said 'anyone from anywhere in the world with any connection whatsoever to Rome or the Latin language are filthy, degenerate, paedophillic, beastial, necrophiles who smell, can't driveproperly and have poor taste in footware. Especially Mexicans, against whom I, Adrian Broner, have lot's of negative emotions and thoughts.'
And it wouldn't be racist because black people hating anyone (esp whites) isn't racism, it's just keeping it real.

Imagine it was reversed. Imagine Canelo said "I beat the **** out of an african" after beating some black dude (I can't say Trout because that was a 1 point win). I bet the same posters that are suggesting Canelo is a ***** would turn ***** made in an instant, writing angry letters and pissing themselves.

Broner also referred to a previous Mexican opponent as a burrito bean eater and claimed all Mexican fighters were limited because at the end of the day they're still Mexican. If Canelo had referred to a black opponent as a fried chicken eater and said he was going to knock out a Black opponent because at the end of the day they're still Black, or boasted about just beating the f@ck out of an African, would anyone be defending him?

True. And the only rebuttal that would make sense is..."He just beat the **** out of an American."

But, Canelo knows better than to hurt his reputation and future earnings like that. He's built up as being the pretty boy not the bad guy. Margarito could've pulled that off, though. Broner, on the other hand, is trying to boost his future earnings, by being the guy people love to hate. And he will have success at that.

The whole "Can Man" thing is not racial at all...it's nationalistic. But, it's controversial...and it has a similar conotation to those who don't know the difference.

I think Broner saying that, particularly on Cinco De Mayo weekend, in front of millions of Mexican fans tuning in was disrespectful.

With that said, I hear the treatment he recieved after that Maidana fight, leaving the arena was nothing short of racist.

It was just part of his overused "can" line.

Broner is still an idiot though.

If Canelo said the same thing about Black people he would be called a racist, and it would hang over his career until he retired and then every news story that mentioned him afterward would start with "disgraced racist former boxer...".

Most of what white people say that we get into trouble for may be incidentally race conscious, maybe chauvinistic, maybe prejudicial, and sometimes ignorant, but never usually overtly blantantly racist.
Yet everyone in the media go crazy, talk about the incident for 3 weeks, ignore all other news stories to focus on one little celebrity who offended their liberal sensibilities, and to show how enlightened they are they stomp all over freedom of speech and lead a witchhunt to get them fired from every job they have and blacklisted for the rest of their career.

Canelo should be quiet and man up about the whole thing, however I have no doubt that Broner would throw a bitchfit the moment he heard anyone say anything that could even be vaguely considered racial.
We've turned into a society of whiners who constantly scream about our feelings being hurt, So What, there is not a right written into the constitution to protect people from insults and being made feel bad.
Ironic that the strength and pride in race or ***uality movements, constantly promote weakness, insecurities, and victimhood.

I am a liberal, and because of that I hate social engineering and censorship, I only wish liberals would get as pissed off about liberal blacklisting and censorship, as much as we do about conservatives, we look like massive hypocrites.
