Floyd has a tendency to be over-selective with punches and allow himself to get outworked. Taylor had an insane workrate, and that would trouble Mayweather, but eventually I think Mayweather's superior ring smarts and skills wins it for him.

    Competitive decision at 140, 7-5 or 8-4.

Today's Mayweather against the Taylor who fought at 147 (pre-Norris)? Well they are both declined, Mayweather being old and Taylor being a little out of his element at 147 and having taken brutal punishment against Chavez.

Likewise, Floyd wins a competitive decision. Floyd would probably hurt Taylor at some point, but won't go for the finish.

I don't think 147 Meldrick is fair to rate against todays crop. Is it just me or are 140 lbers bigger than they used to be? Meldrick is only 5ft7... I feel like guys back then didn't gain as much weight in between weigh in and fight night or something?

Taylor had no power, no chin and no defence. He was just a slapper but Floyd doesn't have the power to take advantage of this like Chavez and Norris did. Mayweather by UD

Would be the undisputed king of 140lbs, and would beat anyone below 140lbs, and mostly everyone at 147lbs, for the exception of Mayweather and maybe Pac...and he gives them both absolute hell.
