Peterson IBF and Garcia WBA and WBC champs are both fighting on the same card, would have been a good fight instead of who they are fighting instead.

    Not to make this racist/nationalistic

If Garcia was not American, they would not make a big deal of this (maybe not even talk about it at all)

Pianeta was a far worst fighter than Roddy Salka.... and that was for all of Waldo's titles.....

Garcia is getting blasted because he's AMERICAN.

Since Americans top boxing, they are usually hold with far higher expectations.... unfair expectations...

Garcia is clearly the unified champion and has been through death's row getting this far, he deserves a tune up.....

Matthysse just fought someone who was knocked out in 1 round (by DeMarco), was an 18-1 favourite against... no one says anything....

Your an idiot Matthysse isn't defending his titles against an un ranked opponent !

His nationality has nothing to do with this ! How much crap do the Klitchkos get for fighting stiffs ..:patsch

The clear #2 fighting someone he's favoured 18-1 against... such a good fight...

Yes, Garcia's nationality has everything to do with it.

If he was not American, the unfair expectations would not be there.

He fought through death's row to get to where he is, he beat Matthysse/Khan/Morales x2/Judah/Holt/Theophane.... he has the best resume @ 40 by far

And will be moving to 47 after...

    A top 10 p4p fighter...

He's the universally recognized champ at 140 and is fighting a guy who isn't even ranked by the WBC or WBA ..Why shouldn't he get criticized for this ?

This is a joke of a fight and an insult to the guys who have fought their way into contention ..But you want to make it into a race thing :patsch

    No I don't, I'm just stating a fact

All great fighters in the past have had tune-ups.... Garcia deserves it after going through death's row....

If the fighter was NOT an American, everyone would give him a pass...

But since Garcia is American, he does not.

I'm not making this a race thing, I'm just stating FACT.

Tunes ups are one thing but this guy isn't even ranked and is undeserving ..There were 30 other contenders he could have fought and were more deserving.

And no no champ deserves a pass for **** like that .Thats what weakens these belts !

You speak as if all tune up fighters were DESERVING. Not all tune ups were highly ranked.........

So your argument doesn't hold water....

The fact of the matter is that Danny is giving us a fight against a very unorthodox/very awkward fight and people are going to watch.....

He's been through death's row to get here, beat the crap out of Matthysse/Khan etc etc

So give the man his respect..:deal

Any truth to the rumors Danny got his 11th toe removed?

This fight is about seeing how his foot feels in a 12 rd fight not about defending his belt

You can try to build him up all you want the guy didn't earn his crack at the belt !

I'm fine with him taking on a easy fight but at least make it against a ranked fighter .. Not some unknown with no major wins and that's not even ranked !

He does, Collado/Spivey and Alvarez (Which he could have won)

    They are very good fighters.
