Seriously too upright, robotic, not a quick as Joe, not as smart as Joe/Ex. He throws good, straight combos but I have a feeling he gets countered to death, even at 43 Bernard beats him. Just too crafty

Bernard needs to retire but he still beats Kessler. :yep

At LHW he definitely beats Kessler. At SMW it's a bit more complicated. You see it seems that Calzaghe is easier to hit (Hopkins still landed very few) and Kessler has a great defense.

    But: even at 43
    -Hopkins is better
    -Hopkins is smarter
-Would make Kessler fight his fight
-and Calzaghe already showed how to beat him

But as I've said: Calzaghe stands above the 160 to 175 elite as he beat Kessler and Hopkins in his last two fights and I feel if the 10 best fighters in these categories fight each other (without Joe of course), Kessler and Hopkins would win the most fights.

Hopkins UDs Kessler in another ugly fight.

I am new to boxing, and make a lot of mistakes when i try predict fights.
    I had kessler over JC
    Taylor over KP twice
I also thought bhop was washed up and would be schooled by JC.
The he dropped JC in first round and fought an extremely close fight with him.

I am danish and Kessler is pretty much our national hero, but if he fought bhop, i would be very nervous. He is extreme at was he does.

All this to say i kind of agree with you.

Kessler why not, he is much more precise than Calzaghe, In my oppinion he would do better than Calzaghe, and Calzaghe did'nt fight well at all.
I think Hopkins was great, the noble art of defence.

I think Hopkins will make it close against anyone. I think he is a nightmare for Kessler Hopkins can adjust and predict Kessler so Kessler never gets a chance to use all that extra energy he has. Fighters like Pavlik, Taylor or Dawson will be much better for Kessler.

Well I wouldn't recomend that fight for Kessler - too little gain by that fight. You just can't look good versus Hopkins, as he can ruin any good fight.

As for kessler's chances - I'd say fairly good - Taylor beat him twice and Kessler does anything Taylor does at least as good ad many things better.

Hopkins should retire now with dignety - no obvouis fights left for him anymore...

I think Kessler matches up better with Bernard than Calzaghe

Kessler has a bad style for Hopkins.

    everybody does...

Taylor connected well with his jab - Kessler's jab is much much better than Taylor's. Kessler's uppercut would also be handy versus Hopkins.

but as stated earlier - stupid fight for Kessler, as he can't "win" - even if he wins on the scorecards fighting Hopkins always makes you look worse than you are...

What I don't get is how everyone thinks Calzaghe-Hopkins was close, it was not and evidently not. Now the haters have ammunition, because he looked human for once against a top opponent.

For whatever reason that was a bad performance, he will be back hopefully against another top opponent and will win impressively, then they will shut up again, it's ridiculous.

Some saying Taylor won easier.... Taylor didn't even win decisively.

Well I had it 116-111 Calzaghe - so Calzaghe-Kessler was closer and a much better fight to watch!

Calzaghe's performance was ok - if he hadn't gone down in round 1, then things would have looked different - but well. Nobody including Calzaghe looks good versus the spoiler Hopkins...
