Who's the best defense to offense fighter right now, and in history?

    Best active defense to offense fighter,

    and the best all time defense to offense fighter.

    Not always. The counter isn't always there, defense to offense can be fighting off the ropes as well. There are offensive minded counter punchers (like dinamita) who don't even go from defense to offense, that will just throw when you're throwing and hit you first. I put Pac in there too. Pac's actually a pretty decent offensive minded counter puncher.

    Defense to offense would be Floyd, Ali, Toney, etc. Think Of Ali knocking dudes out while Back Peddling and such.

    I like Mike Mcallum's ability to do it. His fights vs James Toney who is also great at it are amazing.

    Do we class counterpunching (which comes off defensive posturing and then can go straight back into a defensive posture after 1 or 2 punches) as offence? It is throwing a punch I guess...

    Marquez if so...maybe more so than Floyd.

    The best fighter who could switch from defense to offense and back again, would be in my opinion, Duran.
