i was just rewatching old fights, and while watching the tyson/tubbs fight, i notice in the intro before the fight at about 20:40 of the video, larry merchant says tubbs will be getting 10% of what tyson makes, which will be 9 million, and tubbs should see about half a mill after all expenses are paid.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR3z_aRzEyI im qondering is larry drunk? or did tyson make 90 mil to fight tubbs? and tubbs making 9 mill but only clearing 500k after all expenses seems nuts too

Contrary to what many people say, it was Tyson that caused himself to go broke, not King. Whatever Kings cut was, Tyson still made outrageous sums of money during his career. Buying tigers, expensive clothes, sports cars, and developing a major coke problem, going to jail for 4 years, having multiple kids from multiple women...is what made him go broke.
No. King took it all. Everybody that was telling Mike he was being suckered by King was fired and replaced with guys all hired by King. Reporters were bribed by King to publish fake articles claiming Mikes team left him when they were removed by King to prevent them telling him how much he should really of been eraning.
Of course I was being serious, or are you denying that tyson blew 10s(if not 100s) of millions on jewellery, clothes, cocaine, cars, tigers, expensive divorces, numerous kids by numerous women,fines for actions in the ring, and legal fees from a high profile **** case where he ended up going to jail for 4 years? Well, depends on the purse. When you take out the cut for the manager, trainer, corner team, training facilities/camp, and of course when the tax man takes his cut, its not so shocking.
