I think he can be. He does a lot of things well and really just needs polish in most areas. As long as he keeps developing I could see him at the top of the division. 3 things I'd like to see improvement on: 1. Develop the right hand. He uses it but there isn't enough power in it that I would call him a 2 handed fighter. 2. He has a bad habit of opening himself up after finishing combos and when looking to counter. 3.Defense. This could be said for 99 percent of fighters though. Your thoughts on Spence??
he's the one that gave Floyd the black eye before the Guerrero fight :deal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0S4EePR504
I like him. He has the goods but i can't put my finger on it yet i feel he has some kind of subtle weakness thats gonna be more apparant at the elite level. Whatever it is, he has to fix it.
think he is one of the top new guys to look out for. Hes coasted thru every fight with ease, and I haven't really seen him in trouble in any fight. He utilizes the shoulder roll well and has good speed and pop in his punches. Out of all the new guys coming up, I would put my chips on him more than Lomachenkos East Euro ass.
Give Floyd a good sparring match and you become a legend without ever fighting any one else, ask Paul Spadafora.
Your'e right, he is basic, but he's nearly unflawed. Decent timing, above average footwork, good defense, decent power, decent infighting and body work. Yeah, he looks about as basic as a basic contender. He's also just has his 12th or 13th pro fight and demolished a solid veteran fringe contender. He should be a basic titlist in about 3-4 more fight.
Jose Ramirez is the only one from that American Olympic class that I've liked. Diaz, Spence, Browne and the rest look like they'll be lucky to be belt-holders at some point. We'll see how it goes, but so far, Ramirez has caught my eye.
Not real exciting to watch but he's got talent. He's one of these "safe" boxers who will just do his thing and happily let it go to the cards.
