Guerrero and Ortiz where both top 3 rated WWs. They also both have deep amateur experience unlike Algieri, and they both has fought much better quality of opposition. It's pretty obvious to anyone who watches the sport that both are clearly more talented than Algieri. Even with all of that said, I don't have much of problem with this fight. I just won't be buying the PPV.

Really!? Last I checked, Algieri is coming off a close win against the guy who almost flattened p4p #3 Bradley.

When have Ortiz and Guerrero been anywhere near a fighter of the caliber of Provodnikov? Getting pushed up to p4p/top 10 because your promoter owns the magazine doesn't fcking count.

Guerrero got his sh!t pushed in by Salido at featherweight and went life and death against Aydin who just suffered a TKO loss recently. Ortiz go his **** deeply pushed in by Maidana and struggled with Berto who hasn't done anything relevant since.

Look at their entire resumes. They're both much deeper than Algieri's. Many fans just simply like to group all fighters together that they don't instantly recognize. There's a good reason that you can't base a fighter's resume on one fight. Guerreo and Ortiz would easily defeat everyone on Algieri's resume with the exception of Provo. How many losses do you think Algieri would have if he had to fight the caliber of guys Ortiz and Guerrero have?

Although Pacquiao should easily be a heavy favorite and Algeri isn't the type of name Pac should be fighting at this point, Algeri holds a very big style problem for Pacquiao that if smart enough Algeri can take advantage of. At this point Manny still holds the edge in speed and while he may not hit as hard as Provo now he is still dynamic enough to land his shots.

Algeri is a tall rangey boxer who throws smotth counter punches and has shown a solid chin withstanding Ruslan, it should be noted that neither Algeri or Provodnikov are top tier elite level fighters so neither should legitimately be having this fight but styles make fights and Algeri's style could potentially upset Pac. Provodnikov vs Bradley is like Maidana vs Mayweather what's the difference.

On a lesser likey note both Pacquiao and Mayweather's upcoming bouts could be perfect tuneups style and attitude wise to set them up to take on each other possibly in May with Mayweather saying he has something big coming next anything is possible.

Who's the ducker? Rios, Feather Storm Bradley, now Algieri. What a legacy. Pac ain't fighting anybody with power. The chin has been shattered. He probably waited until Mayweather picked Maidana so he wouldn't have to fight either.

Algieri's size will be too much. He will win by decision and break into superstardom.

the funny thing is that I thought it was mostly all Pac/Roach fans that were saying that Provo won and all Algeri did was run and that he was a disgrace. They said all he did was run and flick a jab all night which isnt even great for amatuer boxing. They said that its not fair that Provo was the only guy trying to make a fight while Algeri gets to just run & jab so please dont try to defend this fight if you did that

Who the fck have Ortiz and Guerrero beaten? Algieri could beat Peterson, and he might even dominate Maidana like Alexander did. I would easily pick Algieri to beat Berto and Aydin (both of whom were beaten easily by Soto Karass).

Maidana is only getting overrated because of his fight with Mayweather. Let's not forget everyone thought it was a terrible fight and that Maidana would've gotten stopped by Mayweather when the fight was signed.

Maidana still has yet to rematch Alexander so we don't know exactly how much he's improved. Yes, he's improved, but I still think Alexander would dominate him if they fought again.

Algieri is a better fight than Guerrero and Ortiz. I'll tell you that much.

You're completely deluded. Algieri has one notable win(in a fight where most observers thought he lost handily), now he's one of the best fighters out there. I think not. Just like at the nonsense you're spewing. You actually said that Maidana fighting Alexander has more relevance in terms of his improvement than a fight with Mayweather. That's a joke.

How is fighting Cotto, Guerrero(Who you just mentioned as a viable opponent for Pac), Canelo, Maidana 2x cherrypicking?

For ANY other fighter, those 4 wins in a row would have a fighter beyond hyped...like BEYOND hyped. Like you see Golovkin, Kovalev, the hype they're getting? Okay now picture that hype, like on the most advanced steroids possible.

    But for Floyd....it's cherrypicking

Okay, then don't ever say **** about styles make fights. Mayweather fights exactly like Alexander all of the sudden? Now that's a joke. Oh, and all the *****s say that Mayweather fought to suit Maidana's style. He was fighting with care for his health second. Hell, a lot of people are saying Mayweather stood toe-to-toe to please the fans and that he'll win easily in the rematch.

Alexander fought in his own boring style and not to please the fans like Mayweather did.

I like how it was a close fight (or Provodnikov won) now that Algieri might get the Pacquiao fight. Before that, everyone said Algieri boxed Provodnikov's head off with one eye. I've been consistent (since I couldn't score the fight) I thought it was a hair-pin close fight. I couldn't say who win.
