Tua was a monster in his prime I used to love watching him fight. I cheered for him against Lewis even though it wasn't close. I wish he was still prime today heavyweight would be a lot better today if he was.

 

The more I watch the first fight and see the rounds Floyd dominated Maidana, the more I believe Floyd pulled a marketing move.... Basically to show that he is beatable, so that his PPV's would stop tanking.

 

For sure, i will never argue that Tua was a monster. I for one genuinely believe he had one of the hardest left hooks in boxing history. I grew up watching him and have met him numerous times. Hell of a guy with a big heart for the poor community in South Auckland.

Unfortunately, long reach fighters got to him psychological and he was his own enemy in his biggest fights. Good point, i think a very large majority of the heavyweight division today would have struggled to stay off the floor against prime Tua.
