    Gavronski is slouching over, head down by Johnson's ribcage, face down. Johnson is hacking down at his upper back and hitting with his free hand as Gavronski snatches at both to contain them. BIG left hook by Johnson as they spin apart. Body shots by Johnson, smacking loudly home with no argument, Gavronski unable to move or block. Gavronski is reduced to flopping in on Johnson and hanging onto him. Light flurries up top by Gavronski, repelled and countered with a right hand. Johnson is now up on his toes, jiving a bit, side to side. Left hook by Johnson, hitting shoulder, clinch.

    Definitely less pop, but I'm not sure about more polished. Higher ring IQ and better idea how to pressure effectively, sure.

    This is normal for him, apparently he gets in wars all the time.

    (Tristan Todd broke his jaw, and he reportedly got a gift over Kevin Hand at least once)

    He didn't make it easy on himself even before stepping up in class.

    Nice to see Johnson back in the win column! Would definitely be interested in Stevens-Johnson II down the line. Curtis probably has bigger fish to fry for the moment though.
