5 upcoming young heavyweights to keep your eyes open for, a couple you may have heard of... Apti Davtaev, Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz Jr, Joseph Parker and Dominic Breazeale. The division looks to be in very good health, despite the constant posts, articles ,etc here and elsewhere saying it's dead. Thoughts?
Breazeale is a scrub.. Soft ass dude. He's gonna get his feelings hurt when he fights someone with a pulse.
Parker has a lot of upside, he's quick, powerful, a good athlete and very young. I just wish he would go to the US and get a proper world class trainer, he has a lot to work with.
Devis Vargas don't come to lose, nor does Nagy Aguilera. Both guys tried to beat Brazeale, and have beaten the lesser comp they faced. Brazeale, in beating those 2, proved he's no less than Clevel ATM, maybe B.:deal
This is the post of somebody who has just looked at BoxRec and doesn't really know what they are talking about! :thumbsup
Come on Ice..... If Joseph Parker doesnt do it for ya....you need to quit watching HW boxing. The kid fights like a MW. And who else schedules a fight a month after Brian Minto.:think And win or lose, he's fighting Sherwin Tank Williams in his 11th fight. Heart and determination and AMBITION. Parker is the OZZY Holyfield.:yep
Parker and Joshua are the only real prospects you listed. Ruiz will probably be a contender like Arreola at least. Pretty thin tbh.
I agree. Heayweights are global nowadays with good prospect from all parts of the world. Also some young European heavyweight prospects (Granate/Wallin/Madugno/Gjergjaj/Wallisch ) are there which makes the HW division nice to watch. When Wlad is retired it will be an open division. Parker and Joshua are the most promising at the moment in my view. I wasn't really sure about Breazeale, but his last 2 matches were decent, and if he keeps on improving he's a contender in the making.
