Lara's boxing last night was beautiful, he was circling the ring, slipping through Canelo's punches, and countering his face all night. But people here are calling it running, that he was scared, are the kind of people that DYSAB, and should just get out. When Mayweather Jr fights going backwards and evades the opponent punches, it's called boxing, and beautifully, but when Lara does it, is running and cowering away atsch Lara connected more punches after all, i wonder how he accomplished that by running all night. Golden rule of boxing: Hit and not get hit. Canelo was taken to school and he didnt knew what to do in there.
Can't compare Lara's performance to Floyd. Floyd actually engaged and backed up Canelo in that fight, Lara just ran like a chicken and got smashed in almost all exchanges when he briefly stood in the pocket.
Floyd stood in the pocket and made Canelo miss, and even backed him up at times. Lara just RUNS like hell to avoid punches. And when Floyd does engage, he lands at a high percentage. Lara has a low workrate and his accuracy isn't even that impressive.
the guy accused of running landed more with less thrown, snapping his opponent's head repeatedly in the process. it's called hit and not get hit with the favored fighter. if it;s the opposite, it's running.:rofl
Floyd stood in front of Canelo all night and even backed him up. Lara did nothing of that sort. He didn't ge5 that cut from a body punch.
floyd switches his 'looks', he'll stand in the pocket.... he'll make you miss and counter..... he'll move off, circle.... take the centre.... lara.... moved and made canelo miss.... but barely threw.... only threw at long range never stood down on any shots....
Only a ****** would compare what Mayweather does to Lara. Lara was moving while throwing one twos and ONLY one twos. Mayweather moves and throws different punches his opponents rarely predict.
He only landed 10 more punches over the 12 rounds. Floyd moves but he is always in range to get his own offence off, Lara was so far out of range at times that he couldn't throw and land him self which is the main difference for me.
mayweatherw as able to back him up as he made him come in at the correct weight , you really think floyd backs up the 170lb version of the cutweightaddweightking
Exactly. Mayweather didn't just out slick Canelo he beat him up during some periods of the fight. He landed twice as many punches as Lara did. You can't compare what Mayweather did to what Lara did. Landing 10 more punches than your opponent doesn't guarantee anyone the win. Canelo was subdued by Mayweather, he never for one moment ever looked discouraged against Lara. He was consistently looking to press the action.
Their performances were quite different, actually. Floyd did not use his legs a lot in that fight, and was more effective offensively and defensively than Lara. Lara outboxed Canelo, IMO. But, it wasn't what one would call a master class.
