Canelo-Kirkland is next says Oscar, who u got?

What if boils down to is whether Mandingo gets that magical button pressed. It is so weird how things like this happen. Remember Julio Diaz against Valenzuela back in 2002? Diaz was a relative up and comer, had promise. He goes up against a journeyman and gets clipped on the chin in round 1 and he is out on his feet. I mean dangerously out. The guy wasn't even a puncher.

Then Mandingo goes up against Tapia and takes several good shots and comes back and stops him. So, Kirkland, given the opportunity, can maybe weather the storm, but if you have a Cortez in there, he may not get the chance. I could easily see Canelo clipping Kirkland early and they stop it immediately. Which would prove nothing, really. Kirkland is damaged goods. But, admittedly, he is lethal. He is like a cornered cobra.

 

The saddest part about all of this, as I have said hundreds of times, is that you have one of the best fighters in the MW division in a decade and he is rotting on the vine, not getting a shot at both true stardom and the paydays he deserves. Peripheral fans don't understand how talented GGG is because they don't pay attention. GGG ought to be fighting a series of fights that culminates in a PBF crescendo. It ought to be Cotto, then Canelo, then PBF. If so, I think he rides off into the sunset rich, dutifully recognized and undefeated.

 

This would be a much more entertaining product than last night. Curious if this wll also be PPV? Seems like the boxing powers that be have declaired Canelo a PPV attraction. At least Kirkland should make him look the part in an entertaining fight.

 

Huge step down in comp for Alvarez compared to Lara but a tune-up for Cotto in May of 2015 is cool... Kirkland will help "Canelo" shine by providing the KO GBP's needs to springboard into a crossover event like "Alvarez. Vs. Cotto".

 

Tapia landed some hard shots on Kirkland. Canelo hits much harder than Tapia.

I think Canelo would retire Kirkland.

Ridiculous. Why is Kirkland deserving of the payday?

 

Canelo beats Kirkland fairly easily. Kirkland is extremely 1-dimensional. He literally stands right in front of you, no movement, and slugs. A perfect scenario for Canelo would be to move a bit in the early rounds while occasionally sitting on his shots and landing thudding bombs (and they would be thudding). These punches would take the legs/spirit out of Kirkland and enable him to walk Kirkland down en route to a stoppage. Kirkland isn't very good.

 

I actually wouldn't mind seeing this fight, just to see Canelo score a highlight reel KO over Kirkland.

 

Nope .. this could be very bad for Canelo .. Kirkland destroyed Angulo well with in the distance standing right on top of Angulo, something Canelo could NOT Do ..

Kirkland tanks are a little too deep for Red , and Red runs out of gas during the middle round..

Kirkland will put a full court press form the opening bell, this will kill all the fight from Red.

 

Angulo very stupidly punched himself completely out.

 

Terrible fight and once again, not PPV worthy.
