103-24 Headshots edge Lara over Canelo.

You have only seen the first 6 rounds though, Canelo started to land more as the fight progressed.

 

did he win the next 6 rounds?

 

I had Lara winning 7-5 rounds close fight that could have went either way.

Lara won 4-2 in the first half then got cut and Canelo started to come back, had it even going into the 11 which I felt Lara took and 12.

But some off the rounds could have went the other way.

I just don't get how you can be so critical of Canelo's performance when you haven't bothered to watch the 2nd half.

Canelo loss to Trout IMO ,but what can you say ,its all a build up to try and make him the next PPV star which he's lacking in a lot of places. The guy doesn't uses his jab and someone faster than Lara with power takes his head off.

 

This is ESB, jabs to the head only count when it's the guy they want to win landing them

 

The thing about idiots who spam overall punch stats to prove their point is that these punches weren't distributed evenly across all twelve rounds. One guy could outland the other 38 to 11 in one round, but then get outgunned by 7 punches in the next three rounds and still be ahead in total punches landed. He still lost 3 rounds out of 4. If a fight was just one 36 minutes long round, maybe your stats would be relevant, but they're actually not.

Now get the f*ck outta here with this **** already.

And to further illustrate the point, for those who still want to defend their stance based on compubox numbers.

For the first 3 rounds(when Lara looked his best) Lara outlanded Canelo
30-17.

From rounds 4-12(after Lara started running) Canelo outscored Lara
80-69:yep

 

7-5 Lara, 6-5-1 Lara or maybe even a draw. No way did Canelo win this fight simply by chasing Lara, missing by miles, getting cleanly punched in the face and landing his "body shots" on elbows/arms. That's now 2 fights Canelo got gifts in. The Trout fight was the other. This sport makes me laugh sometimes..

drainelo has no knockdown to speak off, no visible damage on his opponent except that miniscule cut on lara's eyebrow.

the only thing positive going for him was his body shots, but very few landed.

they looked good and made drainelo looked like he was doint something right, but most were caught on lara's arms, some below the belt.

the left hooks mostly landed on lara's back or hip.

and the punch stat reflected this.:23pct connection.

that's a little more 2 out of 10 punches.
