If the last judge had just given it 115-113 Canelo, there wouldnt be all this talk of Robbery. It was a razor close fight thyat could have gone either way. The 117-111 scorecard just made it seem worse than it was.
This was the definition of a split decision. Probably deserved to a be a draw on a three way split. Two radically different fighting styles. Judges with different judicial philosophies are gonna give credence to different things.
I thought 115-113 either way or a draw where all scores that were in line as to how I scored the fight.
I had it 121 - 96 Canelo. Gave him 10-8 rounds every round, and an extra point at the end for his gorgeous orange hairdo.
I genuinely can't believe that anyone had serious issue with Canelo getting the decision. I really enjoyed the fight and I've seen it a few times now. I think the only clear Lara rounds are 1,2,3,10... Every other round is close and could be given to either man. Canelo was fantastic to the body and Lara had no defence down stairs. He wasn't really making Canelo pay when he did make him miss upstairs. The 117-111 card is a joke but the overall decision is just. I think it would have been justifiable to score it to Lara but I do think the right man won.
And idiots cry robbery. A robbery is a fight similar to Whitaker vs Chavez Sr., De La Hoya vs Trinidad, Khan vs Peterson, Lara vs Williams...etc
how many of them scored that fight with the thought of "there's no way anything close goes to lara" or "everyone knows canelo is going to get the decision." ??? i scored it 8-4 for lara. can't score punches that don't land.
