Canelo already has a huge fan base, and given the right opponent Canelo has an extremely pleasing style, especially for the casual/mainstream fan.

canelo just fought and beat the toughest style match-ups for him at 154, and if he can continue to make 154 Canelo will look phenomenol against the rest of the fighters there.

I'm glad he took on the slick fighters and got them out of the way so that he can focus on looking amazing against the boxer punchers and brawlers of the division.

Canelo will be the face of boxing after his next fight.

Prefight estimates say he sold more PPVs than cotto/martinez

We'll just have to wait until/if showtime release #s

Those were close fights, and you're definitley entitled to your opinion, as anyone else.

With that said, whether you think he won or lost (which will always be a debate, testaent of how close the fight was), he has gotten the hardest fights stylistically for him at 154, and should have an easy and fun time punching in the rest of the guy's face in.

    He beat Trout and lara.

Boxers will have many wins where it's close.

Floyds last win against Maidana was close, so what? Floyd still won.

I'm not the world's biggest Canelo fan, but he deserves huge credit for taking on guys like Lara and Trout, who would be avoided like the plague by any other rising star in the sport.

The kid's great for boxing but so are many other guys who don't get the publicity he gets.....marketing is a powerful tool no doubt. Plus I know Isal has been looking to replace his love for Hoya and I beleive Canelo is a good alternative.
