This is a interesting situation. People knocked JT for getting rocked by a beautiful right hand late by Nard but Joe got KD in the first round and was just as hurt by a right hand at the end of the 7th round. Jermain has been stopped but those were many bombs by a very hard hitting Pavlik he had been taking over the course of the entire fight.

So who has the better beard? I would say they are about even with a slight edge to Taylor, Joe has a better defense though.

They both have good chins, Ithink Pavlik just got him real good and being tires didn't help either.

    Equal I would say

Joe took some real big punches by Kessler, kept moving forward and ultimately broke him down. Taylor took some incredibly flush right hands by Pavlik and only went down once in 19 rounds.

I might actually give JT a slight edge here.

The punch that floored Joe hit him on the nose not the chin. He got up at one with clear eyes. Not a chin issue there.

In the 7th he did get tagged on the chin and although he was forced back a bit he never even stopped throwing punches.

Joe's reputation of having a good if not great chin is not based on scotch mist.

honestly getting kd'd in the first round is very different to getting kd'd later in the fight, joe did not suffer shaky leg syndrome or anything,he just got straight back up and was fine, simply a rather hesitant, when he got caught in the 7th,he was hurt, but he simply stepped back and did not look out on his legs or anything like that, add that to his superior stamina and he has a better chin than jt in my opinion, simply because he has better ring smarts and alot more stamina.

Just watched the latest re-play on HBO today, and the very same question ran thru my mind. lol. Mainly because on the daily on here the Calz fans LOVE to trash Jermaine. It also had me thinking, which really beat Bernard more decisively?? SD and a KD for Joe??

Joe going down in the 1st round had nothing to do with his chin. It had to do with him being squared up and caught with a well placed shot. Same thing in the 7th round. He got caught throwing a flurry while he's squared up and knocked off balance. In neither instance was he hurt. I can't believe people are questioning his chin after the bombs he took from Lacy and Kessler. If anything, people should be questioning his defensive lapses particularly when he's on the offensive. I  @ the thought of JT having a better chin than Joe.
