More impressive: Floyd 50-0 or Hop fighting @ 50?

Did you start watch watching boxing in 2013? Bernard Hopkins fought against quality opposition, such as Roy Jones Jr. (twice), Glen Johnson, Robert Allen (3x), Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Jermaine Taylor (twice), Antonio Tarver, Winky Wright, Joe Calzaghe, Jean Pascal (twice), and Chad Dawson (twice).

 

You my friend obviously DKSAB Getting to 50-0 when you only fight at home when you know the commission & their officials will not let you lose
Add to that you've cherry picked your opponents throughout your career.
You've made riciculous demands of your opponents eg making Maidana wear pillows on his hands & the commission lets you do it. Even with those pillows I still believe Maidana beat you so did Castillo in the first fight
Compare that to Bernard Hopkins career & you just fade into obscurity
Bernard took on all comers is calling out the two most feared fighters even at nearly 50 yrs old. In my opinion Bernard only lost 2 fights Jones jr & Chad Dawson Calzaghe & both Taylor wins were political.

To put it in a nutshell Floyd isn't fit to carry Bernards jockstrap

Hopkins was right as rain when he said the "50/50" bout between he and Mayweather would be huge.
Hopkins fans would definitely buy the event. All of Mayweather's fans would buy the event. All of those Mayweather haters would buy the event to see him get beat up, and BHOP's haters as well.

The only real question is what catch weight would they meet, and where would the bout be hosted?
As far as location, I'm thinking Madison Square Garden or Brooklyn, NY.

Floyd's last contract fight is his 49th, and he recently said that he would go 50 if the money was right.
You know Hopkins would want the fight regardless.

In my opinion Floyd has 2 losses, Maidana and Castillo. But I cant argue somebody scoring the Maidana fight for Floyd. Regardless its kind of hard finding something more impressive than a 50 yeard old man fighting legit competition, and winning.

 

B Hop is a wonder, in truth I dont think that there is any one thing B Hop does great, he simply understands that many of these fighters today are not fundamentally sound. It is a joy to watch how he exploits their flaws even at age 50. I think that a quick fighter who is sharp could probably beat B Hop easy but guys these days are so concerned with power and being action fighters they fall right into a spiders trap.

 

I disagree about wins over Sergio and Pacquiao....the way I see it, Marquez just KO'd Pac and strangely I dont think JMM is any better than he was before....Cotto just stopped Martinez and yet I still see Cotto as the same fighter he's always been. Floyd is still the only fighter I have on the highest level. Wins over Martinez or Pac would just put Floyd where he is right now, at the top of the sport.

The more I look through this thread the more I lean ever so slight towards Mayweather, you have people arguing that with two fights Mayweather could of been a top 10 ATG I don't think anybody has mentioned Hopkins being anywhere near top 10. Depending on his last three fights there's more room from May's 50 to be bigger.

The best Hopkins can do is become Undisputed LHW Champ at 50, Mayweather can get to 50-0 while legitimately becoming Lineal Champ at WW/JMW/MW at the same time if both situations happen neither would be accomplished for a long time

true, but once again we can use the Floyd - pac non-fight to open that gaping hole in Floyd's (and pac's) resume

Hopkins, along with roy jones, were the best fighters of their era
Floyd and pacman are also, but they are the best fighters of their era who fought in and around the same weight class for years, and that couldn't be more true than when both were at the height of their powers - and never fought each other

you couldn't manufacture a better reason to deflate a great fighter's achievements than consciously avoiding THE one fight that mattered most in his entire career

 

If you buy into the Mayweather is ducking everyone arguement but Mayweather is accused of ducking fighters who are on camera saying they weren't ready or didn't want to fight.

But that's my point exactly apparently Mayweather beating Pac would make him top 10 all time and without it he can go no higher than top 20/5, nobody has made anytype of argument that Hopkins would be top 20 all time with an Undisputed TItle @ 50
