Canelo can take the fight to Lara and pressure him all he wants , if hes not landing anything effective , Than what does it matter ? The majority of Canelo bodyshots were not landing cleanly . You can see He was swinging with frustration . Canelo was walking into punches the whole night , Lara was setting up traps beautifully .
You cant compare Lara and Floyd . Lara fought a different Canelo , Canelo took the fight to Lara and was aggressive , he did not fight that way at all with Floyd . He was not going to try and box with Lara . He knew he could not play that sh#t with Lara In the Mayweather fight , he fought with one of the worst gameplans ever . No pressure , no aggression . No smothering . Nothing . He was hellbent on showing Floyd he can beat him at his own game Even when it was clear that his gameplan was not working . Canelo was stubborn in that fight . He did not give a Floyd a reason to use his footwork ,because he never went after him . That's pretty much the ONLY reason Floyd stood in front of him . Had Canelo went after Floyd the same way he did Lara , the result would have not been that wide . Yes every punch that Canelo were powershots , but once again they were not landing cleanly on the body . Lara landed the better punches and Canelo was the only fighter in the ring who was getting his head popped back .

Lara running was not cute . Agreed Canelo stalked and cut the ring YES he also ran into punches (1,2s)everytime he did so . You cant say the power shots Canelo landed was Accurate , because that's not 100% true . He missed a lot punches and was swinging at the air most of the time .
Close fight. Lara did land the cleaner more effective shots throughout the fight. p.s. the trip in the fight was caused by a punch not a foot tangle.
close fight and if it was an amateur fight yes lara would receive the W but this is professional boxing and you can't come in there and fight the way lara did and expect to get the nod especially in a big ppv fight against a rising star like canelo. it would have been a shame if lara would have won and we would have to be force fed boring ass runner lara ppv's. a draw forcing a rematch i would agree with but who wants to see erislandy "i am going to break his face" lara run for 12 more rounds?
