If you dont want to watch the best fighters in the sport fight each other no matter what the style you are what is wrong with this sport

Do you think Mayweather is boring to watch? He never brings the fight to you, it always has to be his opponents who make it interesting. How about Hopkins, Ward, Abril, Crawford? I don't see the networks bashing them for their "boring" style. If all those I mentioned dont have an opponent making them fight, they will stink the place up as they have all done before.

Yeah I do especially Ward and Crawford, and I agree with you.
Although I do get some pleasure out of watching Hopkins get away with his countless fouls.

Interesting enough, some "fans" just set a specific picture in their minds and no matter what style a fighter like Hopkins, Mayweather or Rigondeaux chooses to fight in, that fan only sees what's captured in his mind.

As example, we constantly hear about Hopkins being boring, or as you said, no bringing the fight to his opponent. Yet, since Hopkins had his fight with Pavlik, he has come more offensive minded than he had been in the past.

Likewise, Maweather in his fight against Canelo stood right in front of Canelo for most of the fight. At times Mayweather even backed Canelo up as he did when he landed that beautiful uppercut on him as Canelo had his back to the ropes.

The truth is boxing has gained a lot of new fans who initially were groomed watching WWE/UFC or MMA. They have a difficult time understanding the concept of, Hit while not being hit, and don't appreciate defence, counterpunching, or ring generalship.

Matter of fact yes Mayweather is boring and so are the other guys u mentioned . When people think of badass fights they think of ; Toney vs Jirov, Chavez vs Taylor, Holyfield vs Bowe, Corrales vs Castillo, Chacon vs Edwards, Hagler vs Hearns, Morales vs Barerra, Ali vs Frazier..... Fans want to see some fukking toe to toe action bottom line !!!

Beating Rigo is hardly low reward ! Number 3 or 4 P4P and the rightful champ status is not low reward. WTF?!

I didnt see all these fights so i cannot comment on them all. But again there is always an aggressor making the fight. Ali frazier made him fight ali would be content dancing and stinging frazier with that jab but frazier wasnt having it. motor city cobra boxer again hagler made him fight . same with riddick holyfield was all over him. toney is a different animal he can go either way. There is always and agressor if not it will be boring

Same old story styles make fights. and the more aggressive one fighter is the more toe to toe as you call it.

Problem going toe to toe with rigo is dangerous fighters know it they wont do it . How the hell is that rigos fault.

Yes fans or casual fans, as they make up the majority, want to see toe to toe action. I really like to see Rigondeaux fight and appreciate his skills same as CATCHweather. Hopkins and Ward just put me to sleep. If Rigondeaux wasn't Cuban and were to be an American, HBO would've been all over his nuts comparing his skills to those of Floyd.

He actually isn't rigo got the boring tag from the donaire fight as he was seen as spoiling the fight dispute him throwing more punches than donaire

See donaire got the exciting tag from being matches with limited face first boxers who he looked spectacular against, against rigo he was afraid to attack and press the action because he would get beat up

Against agbeko rigo dominated and it was boring because agbeko refused to attack and just defend the whole fight

Against a face first brawler like willie Casey he looked spectacular and if he had face first brawlers like arce and vice to fight he wouldn't be seen as boring

Pretty sure Frampton would fight him.

They'd get a big crowd in Belfast, and Ferampton can be used to make the money for the fight.

Rigo would be hyped as one of the best p4p fighters in the world(which he is) and the fight would be huge in the UK and Ireland.

Rigo is already known in the mainstream Irish sporting community after he walked through Big Bang.
