Are Erislandy Lara's days in the big stage over?

He showed millions of potential fans that he can stink up the joint pretty bad. His amateur style turned most spectators off. Even a lot of amateur fighters don't do as much running. In prize fighting you cannot be content connecting a couple more weak punches a round and expect to win rounds that way, especially when your opponent is pressing the action and throwing bombs that connect to your body.

He also almost arrgonatly commented that is not a Golden Boy fighter, I'm sure GBP President Oscar De La Hoya wasn't impressed by those comments. Why would ODLH do him any favors? He isn't working with Top Rank either.

His lack of class before and AFTER the fight also didn't win him any fans or do him any favors.

Are Lara's big paydays gone because of his behavior in and outside the ring?

Where does Lara go from here? Who picks him up?

Hopefully Raul drags his ass back to cuba, his performance after round three was a disgrace.

Since the majority of the boxing commentators and boxing stars interviewed said they thought Lara won the fight, I think that he will definitely be offered fights on both networks.
LOL. For once even Teddy Atlas got it right and thought Lara won the fight. His emotional TV rant against the bad decision probably helps Lara's case also.

What major boxing network is going to want to put him on the big stage again? He didn't make many new fans when he fought Canelo.

Even if a few boxing insiders think he should have gotten the decision, he is still not a draw. I'm sure the networks think of him as someone who would stink the joint up again if he fights another exciting strong fighter again. No one wants to see his amateur style, really.

Unless Al Haymon drops him, which I highly doubt, then Lara will be fighting again on the networks.
My guess is he'll be back in the ring and probably before Canelo. :yep

Haymon doesn't control the networks. Haymon's job is to make sure his fighters are matched up good, get paid fairly.

The people with the $$$ (The networks and the promoters) dictate who will fight who and where. Why? because they have to cater to the demand, the demand comes from those paying to watch a fight.

Who is going to pay to watch Lara after his performance against Canelo?

Rigo is more interesting than him and he's done on major tv for awhile, sure as hell this guy is too.

I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't even the case. Unless they talk to Lara and warn him to not stink up the house again and give him another chance.

But he is likely going back to the bottom of the list. Like Oscar said, wait in line.

Doubtful. Dan Rafael said it was doubtful any promoter picks him up. He loses money everytime he fights.

Lara still has a belt at Jr. Middleweight and generates enough interest to be on the undercard of major fights. It's not his fault that Alvarez was too slow of foot and didn't know how to cut off the ring to make Lara change his tactics.
