By the looks of it Cotto doesn't want to get his a$$ whoop by Trout AGIAN.

Cotto is on his way out. What he wants right now are fights that will guarantee serious money. Trout isn't going to guarantee anything for him.

Too risky. Never knew why he took that fight to begin with. He could have taken on Bundrage and kicked his ass. Trout was a bad matchup.

I guess Cotto seen it as a chance to unify before the anticipated Alvarez match up.

He took that fight because he gave the fans what they wanted and that's something fighters rarely do and rarely get appreciated for it(as this thread's bitter author proves).

He could have taken Bundrages IBF belt...

I disagree. I don't recall people saying Cotto should fight Trout. The Bundrage fight would have been more exciting. And I didn't see the Trout fight, but wasn't it boring?

I think it was a bad matchmaking move, nothing more.

People did want that fight back then and praised Cotto for taking it. Trout was an undefeated fighter who was highly regarded by fans back then. I do agree that he should have gone for Bundrage but he went for the more dangerous opponent and is getting slammed for it.

Trout should fight Quillin for WBO strap if he wants a shot at Cotto.

I am not slamming him for it at all, but I felt he could have picked a more winnable and exciting fight with Bundrage.

From what I heard, Cotto is waiting for JMM to avenge his embarrassing loss to Floyd.

    Patience.

Bundrage has a very wild and ugly style which could prove to be more frustrating than exciting for Cotto's style.

Trout and Floyd are Cotto's only legit losses. PED shakes and plaster wraps get no glory.

But if he never fought Trout in the first place, would he have ever met up with Roach??
