Actually they do have the same style. Very boring kind of style, but he manages to get the W. I dont think hes near to the great ones of boxing.

    They're completely different!

Ruiz shits on the proud traditions of boxing with his cheating dirty tactics like holding, mauling, headbutting and faking low blows.

Hopkins, in contrast, uses a style that harks back to the glory days with his imaginative, wily and cunning use of old school tactics like holding, mauling, headbutting and faking low blows.

No suprise that you haters can't see the difference.

I assume none of you have seen any of Hopkins fights pre Calzaghe then? Or are you all suffering from short term memory loss?

Ruiz is boring cause he has to be boring to win cause he cant do nothing more.
Hopkins is boring cause he chooses to be boring he could fight diferently but he prefers dirty tactics and a very cautious style.

    2 things:

    1) Hopkins can't use any other style against half-decent anymore at his age. And....

    2) If what you said were actually true, then that makes him FAR worse than Ruiz, as he's choosing and going out of his way to degrade boxing.

he has some good fights when he doesnt use his safety first style but for every G.Johnson or Trinidad fights he gives us two fights like he did this weekend.

He's 43...he cannot box how he used to. He's adapted so he could box for longer.

Hopkins is a purist much like PBF. Not everyone will appreciate his style but his hardly comparable to that tin of beans John Ruiz.

    OH NO YOU DIDNT

For the record i respect Ruiz and think its disgustin' the negative bulll**** he gets.

But Bernard Hopkins has one of the best tactical brains of all-time, and is defensive genius at its utmost best. You cnat compare his feinting, countering, and over the years downright destruction of oponents , to Ruiz' holding and sloppy (but effective ) jabbing.

OH NO YOU DIDNT SAY THIS!!

That's exactly what I thought. THese idiots need to look up Hopkins-Johnson. Hopkins was a destroyer and an animal. Find a 43 year old with a more active style gents, then we'll talk.

Ruiz was always a hugger. And a less technically adept, less clever one at that.
