Many fighter have fought after losing parents close to a fight, loved ones with illness, even wives or girlfriends giving birth and all sorts of reasons that could be considered a distraction. After what Fury himself has said about Haye and Chisora and all this "I'm a fighting man" and "anytime anywhere" cobblers the fact is he looks a bellend. The more I think about this the more it is obvious Fury did not want any part of a fighting fit Ustinov and he even said so by claiming people are trying to stitch him up...
and this is the guy whom so many of you try to account for and justify him (and others) as a true champion beater... the only thing I can say is "there are NO More fighters!" they're all _ucken Hype Jobs, PROTECTED more than toddlers and won't risk an '0' never mind a REAL Opponent. Boxing isn't dead because of them alone, it's _ucken 'history' because so many of the supporters spewing S H I T E about these humiliating wannabee's.
Too true. Any GENUINE prospect would be licking his lips and fighting as many times as possible against as many of this crop of heavywasters as possible. It's not hard to get a title shot. Just bang down the door by steamrollering all the dross. If you keep busy and keep winning in the current climate your nailed down to get a shot whilst all the other lumps wait around for a gap they can sneak down. Tyson Fury called himself the greatest ever. Ali would have fought Ustinov for fun on 10 minutes notice. Fury is probably acting on good advice, and from a business perspective it makes sense to take no risks, but then drop all this "any man born from his mothers womb" bull**** and accept that you're just like the rest.
Hope his uncle gets better. But if he didn't fancy Ustinov the don't agree to the fight. Those of u that say well he didnt prepare for ustinov etc so why take it? I dont think he fancied it and yet again so called fighters wont fight each other cause they are too worried about a loss, in years past a few losses didn't matter but now with so much emphasize on their records a loss can spell the end
A loss is bad for a career but pulling out of a big fight on the day over an uncle's health is just as bad surely. He's lost a vast amount of credibility and fans that won't be back.
U may be right especially in the uk. but i think he was going to be badly sparked early and that would have ruined him more than a pull out
I wonder if there's anything specific about pulling out of a fight in the contract, particularly for non-injury related reasons? Fury has shown his true colours here.
I thought that. But the only British boxer they'd get would be Mike Sprott, and he's past his best now and not big enough,so Im pleased about that . Matt Skelton has just been stopped so is out of it. Nobody else to take it. If there is,my hats off to him.
This deal with Frank/Boxnation seems to be a real sticking point. He should by now be free to do what he likes after the three fights are up. Alas he has only fought once in the contract and will only fight once again is year. The whole thing is a mess.
He could fight the Brazilian lad who Chambers was fighting although the card has already started. It started at 4pm.
Unless Fury's lot can prove that this "illness" occured in the last 12 to 18 hours and wasn't already a fact beforehand, I hope the commission will do the right thing and give Tyson a one-year ban. If his uncle was already ill, he would have known that before so not a legit excuse. If his uncle got hit by a truck yesterday or fell out ill last night and was rushed to the hospital, it's still not a reason to pull out of a fight. He deserves some sort of suspension.
Chambers has pulled out as his trainer Peter Fury has pulled out (understandably), don't see Chambers getting slagged off for not wanting to fight, with just finding out before fight his trainer wont be there (nor should he), but the same applies to Tyson his trainer wouldn't have been their (so lets fight a top 10 world opponent at 4 days notice, dodgy enough), but then realise 1 day before fight you wont have your trainer as well (so even if Hughie Fury was not Tyson's uncle he done the sensible thing in pulling out). But add fact it is your uncle, and you would be stupid to fight. Most people in that situation would do the same, anyone who disagrees with that is either thick or a troll, or both
Fury had a meltdown at the weigh-in taking conspiracy theories. Now this. It has been revealed that Tyson only OKed the fight because he thought he was fighting Sir Peter Ustinov. How DARE they try to slip in an opponent who had actually been training. The NERVE.
