So, a little background, I was a big time lifter before starting to box last November. I was pretty strong for my weight with decent lifts at a weight of like 225. Now im at 208 or so after boxing and currently cutting. Im not lifting as much (2x week) and obviously now doing a lot of cardio. I had my first fight last week which I won, btw. I have no future plans for boxing just doing it for fun and conditioning but still obviously want to improve. As a HW, I feel strength is pretty important, so how do boxers maintain their strength or get stronger when doing all this cardio? Maybe it is my diet, maybe im doing TOO much?

Well done on your win. Just keep lifting and training. Prioritise certain things at times depending what you need sooner rather than later. So 1 month from competition don't be running once, lifting 5 times a week. 3 months out it could be the opposite. If you feel you are doing too much, try doing less and see how you feel.

Well, of course you won't be able to lift as much as when you were heavier, lifting more often and NOT boxing. That is expected.

You need to decide what you want to prioritize more, increase strength, or improve boxing. You can still be strong and lift weights while boxing. But the impression I get, is that you want to be AS strong as you were BEFORE you were boxing.

It's likely not realistic to do BOTH without SOME sort of compromise.
    Pick one.
