Krasniqi vs. Cherviak is the main event? Huh, weird.

I didn't think Haxhi was as big a name over there as RS.

The belt they're competing for is certainly of no higher stock than what Stieglitz was just gifted over Khomitsky.

 

30-27 Krasniqi, boxing well turning Cherviak like a dial and countering his stubby jabs with longer ones and right uppercuts. Pretty light pace.

 

Round 4

Krasniqi is dancing around Cherviak, sticking jabs on the face of the much shorter and stockier Ukrainian as he tanks in and falls short with jabs and hooks. Wild right by Cherviak, dodged as Krasniqi brushes the ropes. Left hook by Cherviak blocked, followed by a right uppercut on the chest that causes Krasniqi to drop his glove and maybe scrape the canvas as his balance is affected by the shot while dipping. That maybe could've been ruled a KD, but wasn't.

Round 5

Krasniqi is circling out, changing directions every few steps, knocking down Cherviak's jabs with his own. Krasniqi is feeding light repetitive jabs into the guard of Cherviak and then abruptly ducking to hook the body and escaping out the side hatch. Cherviak is befuddled by even the most rudimentary movements from Krasniqi. Left hook by Krasniqi, intended for the body but hitting the face of Cherviak as he bends over to his right, straight into the punch, misjudging that Krasniqi was about to jab high again.

Stieglitz vs. Khomitsky was a lot more entertaining, actually, even during the ugly parts.

Cherviak brings nothing here to make this competitive. He is outsized, a great deal slower and less athletic, not very intelligent, and has no power.

 

Ugh, it seems a bit of the style of Nathan Cleverly rubbed off when Krasniqi fought him.

 

Round 6

Krasniqi is throwing groups of flitting jabs and soft uppercuts at the body from outside, up on his toes. Cherviak is plodding in swinging for the fences with big can-opener right hands reaching far overhead, placing a peremptory jab on Krasniqi's guard to set it up and taking a second too long to deliver the payload each time. Movement and flurries by Krasniqi.

Of course, neither Stieglitz nor Krasniqi are "true Germans". They were born in Russia and Kosovo respectively.

I just thought Stieglitz was a lot higher profile and more established there, and so assumed he was headlining.

 

Round 7

Krasniqi is taking a breather, circling and flopping in on Cherviak with a light double jab on the way in. Cherviak is shoveling hooks into the body but missing badly or getting smothered when Krasniqi moves in. Double jab, long right cross on the face by Krasniqi all scored while moving backwards, doing essentially a moonwalk.

Round 8

Krasniqi is backhanding jabs from the hip and staying outside, casually moving left and easily staying beyond Cherviak's hooking range. Frustration shots from Cherviak, slamming down with his right hand as he stomps inside, hopelessly inaccurate, barely even looking to aim. Krasniqi dances wide around him on the balls of his feet. Cherviak doesn't fancy the task of cutting the ring off and so just watches him.
