evreybody who knows boxing knows that calzaghe won its desperate how people are calling hopkins the winner? when some rounds he only landed 10 or 11 punchs
Scored originally, in-time for Joe, 116-111. Same after having rewatched. I'd also like to add that it is the first time I gave a fight to a Hopkins opponent since the Jones fight. I thought Taylor might did enough to pull off the first, but did he do enough to dethrone the long-time champ? Hmm. And Hopkins definitely did enough in the second. But this time, for me, it was clear. Joe Calzaghe won that fight.
10-11 clean, effective punches is far better than 30 pitter-patter grazing blows as far as I'm concerened. Hopkins by 1. You can't win a fight just by throwing punches in my book. You have to land solid, clean punches.
calzaghe lost the first few rounds through to be out classed by a smarter opponent but after that hopkins was slow, his punchs became less effective and calzaghe was the more active fighter, evreybody says hopkins punchs was effective but most of them was really weak compared to his earlier rounds, so calzaghe became more effective and took control of the pace, how does hopkins win with only a couple of really meaningful punchs?
