Are you still a Fury fan?

Not a fan.

I used to like him, but he's become more and more mentally unhinged.

He had to fight dirty to beat Cunningham, and then backed away from the IBF final eliminator with Pulev. Then he started lying (like David Haye) about Wladimir Klitschko avoiding him, when in fact his management turned down a fight with Klitschko in the fall of 2012. He goes on about K-2 conspiracy theories.

And now despite all his boasting and silly talk, he gets scared after a weigh-in when faced with a man his own size, and pulls out the next morning hours before a scheduled fight.

 

I'm surprised this clown even has fans.

 

I'm still a fan, but in a different way. Now that we have hard, irrefutable evidence of Fury's vulnerabilities (lack of self confidence), I'm not boosting him to be a world champ or a top contender. Not any more.

After what Fury revealed of himself against Ustinov, I now boost Fury as a top notch clubfighter, or a lower level contender. He doesn't have the psychological toughness to go higher than that.

Nothing wrong with that, though. Just a question of having realistic expectations of Fury after what happened against Ustinov.

 

Joey Abell, Travis Kaufman, and Mike Mollo are top notch club fighters.

Fury is a top contender on resume alone.

So he didnt have his head in the game for a fight. He's been let down huge these last 18 months and he MIGHT have bottled it.

For all we know, F-Wank may have cut Fury's purse because of the opponent. Nothing's been said. And at first, Fury mighta said sure I'll fight the bum.....but then realized he was fighting for 100K instead of 400K.

If I were him I wouldnt fight under the F-Wank banner again unless the purse was guaranteed regardless of opponent and the replacement should be team Fury's choice, not F-Wanks.:nono

 

I've never seen the appeal. He doesn't entertain me in the ring (despite having that "dangerous but vulnerable" quality that is much sought-after in heavies, where it always feels a single punch can end it for or against him) or even outside.

Just an unlikeable fraud IMO.

 

Would not surprise me if reduced purse was a factor, but the main thing is he bottled it. Told ****** he still wanted to fight, and probably thought they'd feed him a Sprott/Rogan/Latvian lardy guy, but instead they pop out an in shape Ustinov. The signs were there at the Ustinov presser when he went into a rant about some Klit conspiracy to get him via Ustinov, was serious paranoia on display and signs he was jittery. He obviously slept on it/consulted his gypsy tarot and shat it full. And I don't buy the Uncle Hughie reason, sorry but pro fighters do not pull out on fight day over a sick uncle.

 

Fury is fraud, wasting his career away. He's Andre Ward with 99% less skill. His opponents in the last 600 days were Abell and Cunningham. It's a joke.

The promoter may have decided to pull Fury out after witnessing his vulnerability at the weigh in. After all, the promoter's invested a lot of cash in Fury, and doesn't want to see it go out the window due to an upset defeat.

I stood to make hundreds of thousands on this fight. I'm disappointed.

 

Well Fury had people pull out of 3 straight fights. Fury had nothing to gain fighting Ustinov and everything to lose. Even is Fury beats slow ass Ustinov he gains nothing. I'm still a Fury fan.

Behind the camera Fury is apparently a nice genuine guy.That's not the case for many pro athletes.It's been stated a few times that he will be the last to leave an arena signing autographs.I believe that.He has a lot of time for the fans and that's how i judge him.Two men that Fury has beaten Steve Cunningham and Martin Rogan have since spent a few weeks in camp with him and both talk about him in a positive light.Rogan has become one of Fury's biggest cheerleaders.He talks trash to sell fights for instance Peter Fury and ****** admitted that Fury and Chisora get on well in real life so its all an act.Fury met Deontay Wilder in Sheffield and they also got on quite well but yet are talking trash to each other on twitter.

 

I doubt that Fury's purse was significantly reduced, due to the simple fact that Fury could (and indeed would) have used that as a reason to pull out of the fight with at least a modicum of dignity.

No, Fury agreed to the Ustinov fight, and they weighed in ffs, so there were no significant financial issues!!

Fury took one look at Ustinov, tried to intimidate him with his antics and saw that Ustinov didn't give a **** about him. So Fury then starts bleating about "being set up".... a clear indication that he didn't fancy fighting an in-shape man his own size (for once), then got his Uncle to pull him out because another Uncle was ill!!!

That those dumb pikeys seriously believed that the boxing public would buy such a lame excuse is almost beyond comprehension!

Fury has went backwards ever since Brian Hughes (a trainer of multiple world champions) threw him out of his gym and Uncle Peter (a trainer of no professional pedigree) took over!

Fury is a taity, a doilum and a SHITHOUSE!! He is a laughing stock who should be fighting other pikeys for the youtube audience!!

 

Funny that, 'cos most of the pro boxers that I know who are based in the Greater Manchester area (people who actually know Fury and not the public relations exercise) consider him to be painfully arrogant and an utter ****!!

I know a few lads from up here (North East) who have sparred with Fury and spent time with him, and they also consider him to be a wanker..so do many amateur trainers who recall meeting him before he turned pro.

I know a couple of the top pros of travelling stock up here (the Dickinson's for starters, and young Ward) so i'll ask them just who the hell is the "Real" Tyson Fury!

 

Since i didn't hate him on the basis of race/nationality, nothing has changed to me. He's not his fault if his opponents pulls out of his fights for dear life.

and regarding his own pulling off, it was already a compromised fight, and it will send a message to the future opponents.
