i think he would have got knocked out no matter what but you gotta admit he had some of the worst luck tonight.

    1. his opponent was triple g
    2. leg gets caught by camera mans strap causing a slip.
    3. ******ed timekeeper lets 1st round go 4 minutes
    4. gets caught with headbutt at end of the 4 minute round causing a cut.
    5. gets hit in the back of head causing 1st knock down.
    6. lands best shot of fight up then gets knocked out by the counter!

poor guy could not catch a break tonight. geal got GBTFO "GOOD BOYED THE **** OUT!!!!

side note - ggg has phenomenal power and footwork but has problems with movement, no defense and is extremely flat footed.

I thought he got hit more on the ear/side of the head than the back.

I just had the no defense thing sink in. lol You really think he's doing this at this level with no defense?

No defence? Who has tagged him clean or knocked him down?

he got tagged clean numerous times against stevens, and geale caught him clean several times and had the best punch of the fight just before getting GBTFO. granted he has an exciting style and is willing to take one to give one, but as of right now his defense is depending too much on walking through punches to set up his shots. that strategy could bite him in the ass if he ever fights outside of 160.

He didnt walk through Stevens. He did get caught some though. I dont think a lot of it, I watch other fights and even Ward gets hit. Maybe what bothers some people is he gets caught by punches some other boxers wouldnt get caught by?

That Golovkin models his pro style after Chavez Sr is no secret. His style is definitely not mainstream amongst modern trainers. I think the style that differs so much from Mayweather and Ward is what throws people.

For me the biggest question mark, is what happens if someone does find a way to give him trouble. Can he adapt during an elite level bout, when facing an elite guy with an elite corner who had a plan A or B that actually works? Or will he succumb to the temptation to fall too much in love with his power, just try for more of it, and forget his jab and footwork which is what IMO is most responsible for his rise?

Golovkin landed a huge punch on the ear of Geale, the video does not lie...............Geale was not hit behind the head at all.............Geale was not in Golovkin's class...............

it was not a huge punch, a ggg huge punch would GB GEALE TFO as the knockout punch did in the 3rd round. i watched the fight again on the replay and i'm pretty sure the video shows the punch landing on the back of geales head. i'll have to watch it again to be sure.

His defence is pretty good for a come forward fighter looking to stop his opponent.

Landed on side, scraped across back of head. Was because of the the way Geale was trying to duck, but was too slow. Was not aimed at back of head.

A ref could probably have called it no knockdown if he wanted to. But it was a legally aimed punch, if you move the back of your head into a punch its generally legally considered your own fault not an illegal blow.

I have watched it is slow motion in HD, that punch landed on Geale's ear, but it doesn't really matter, Geale was out classed anyway and would have been knocked out......................the punch was on the ear..............watch carefully......................behind the head would be at the base of the skull, not the ear.................

Unlucky but GGG is superior to Geale.
