I reckon Perez could do with a personal trainer. He obviously knows how to box. Adam possibly doesn't know how to conjugate "trabajar".
Cheers mate. Quite recently I saw film of Solis beating David Haye in the amateurs. Couldn't believe it was the same man Id seen lumbering around as a pro.
I'm of the belief that Booth's tactics for Groves against DeGale won Groves the fight. So he gets credit for that. If Groves had stood there and traded, things would be very different today.
Look at this string of **** old boothy boy is retweeting: mike Perez was ****ed by that referee last night. @boxingbooth is right, the ref has been biased against #perez throughout this fight #poor #boxing Disgraceful refereeing. US referee making sure the US fighter wins in the US. Bull**** American decision by the judges, ref won that for Jennings, was against Perez from the start whatthefk? He was the one that nearly shat himself everytime Wlad almost started pushing Haye's head down, yet Perez was doing that and more all night. What a hypocritical sack of ****, no surprise of course, just wanted to point out the crying
Why didn't he go to the ref between rounds and make a big deal of telling the ref that Jennings is doing something with his head or whatever. It then puts pressure on the ref to look out for it, since everyone will have seen Booth go crazy at him. Dreadful night in the corner for Adam
After finally watching the fight, don't get what all the fuss is about. Perez was holding all night and deserved a point taken off at some stage. Sucks for him that it happened in the 12th but it was a long time coming. Both guys looked sloppy. It was an ugly one.
Agreed. The old man in the corner of the gym is who you need to listen to. Those guys have been around the sport for decades, literally. They were born for that kind of thing.
Perez lost that fight through lack of dedication. Find it hard to believe Booth was telling him, 'Take another day off, skip your running, I'll have some donuts sent over' throughout camp. Do people really think boxers are puppets, that the trainer says or does something and they all automatically do it? Perez isn't motivated to be a champion. Booth may has well have been telling him to stand on his head -- shape Perez was in, he wasn't going to do much but throw two punches and hold. I have no idea how good Booth is or is not as a trainer, but I've got a pretty good idea that Perez doesn't want it. As Ali famously said, the fights are won and lost long before they step under the lights.
I thought it sounded like he was incorrectly using the feminine ending ie 'aggresiva' and 'rapida.' I was hoping he was going to throw a 'scorchio' in.
Yeh exactly he was just throwing in the odd word for show. I do like Booth tho, to say he's 'a joke of a trainer' is ridiculous.
I agree. He does seem to have a lot going for him as a trainer. But when he said he was taking Spanish lessons I never thought it was in order to speak to Perez. He's got an Irish wife/partner I believe and kids who probably speak English in a delightful Southern Irish accent. Probably don't know a word of Spanish. Nothing wrong with Booth learning a bit for holidays on the costs or Mexico/Cuba/Dominican/
