Canelo hasnt peaked and if he has he was never that good. he is young and has some talent but he is fundamentally unsound. not enough amateur fights to learn the sweet science. lacks footwork and can't figure out "boxers". with a better trainer he could be "great".I'm still unconvinced

 

He doesn't need to run into someone like tito to look like a clown, watch the mayweather, lara or trout fight. Rigged judges too good.

 

vargas got push to early fighting tito. fighting winky when he did and few other guys was no biggie. but fighting tito and oscar really did a number on his career. his tito fight was like 6 fights and his oscar fight was like 3 to 4.:-(

 

Canelo and JCCJR are all hype, and will be exposed several more times in the next few years. The real verging Mexican warriors/greats are Mikey Garcia, Leo Santa Cruz, Omar Figueroa & Jesse Vargas.

Once Vargas had back surgery he was never the same. He couldn't win a big fight since Ike Quartey. He got a gift against Winky Wright who clearly whooped his ass.... If his back wasn't a problem he might have been better at the end of his career.
